wingnut 0 #1 May 30, 2003 well i've seen both those and i've seen more...... heat in the high desert west of the rockies and rain there too... well as you all know probably my rv caught fire just outside of the strip (las vegas) on tuseday on my way back from perris... only 4 hours into my 12 hour trip.. luckly jtval works nights and lives in vegas.. so i cal lhim up and he comes to the resque!!!!!! he saved my life. i would of been F2CKED, no that's not it, i would of been "ROYALY F@CKED".. if it wasn't for him.. he shoed up with tools and some wire and his car.. witha little ducttape and a screwdriver i was back on the road (well we're not macguyvers so actually it was som electrical tape and the whole dash torn out) but i repaired the damagd and was on my way this morning. just out side vegas about 40 miles i picked up a 52 year old guy (hey i asked him later that's how i knew) i figured i didn't want to break down again alone and who better but a hitchicker to share it with....i was hoping the karma would help me... it did.... he was on his way back to columbus ohio, about 30 miutes from where i grew up. turned out he worked for the same company as my grandfaher did but my grandfather retired about 10 years ago. it was cool talking to him about back home for a 250 mile drive..... droped him of at the i-70 on ramp and was on my way. the wind sucked and the rain we ecountered sucked more, but it did cool things off....... got to fillmore utah and had to get a jump start t the gass station and i was back on my way. and at about 6pm today i pulled into my town and drove up infront of the house.. i am finally home... wow, 2 extra days of vacation, more sweating than i ever want to do (both from the record heat here and not knowing f the rv would make it all the way) so i say this to all of you... ya see a grey haired guy on i-70 going to colmbus, give him a lift, and remeber this (i'm steaing it from "good stuff" airspeed segment) "it's not the destination..... it's the trip".......... peace out....... ______________________________________ "i have no reader's digest version"

PhreeZone 20 #12 May 30, 2003 I laughed when Mouth about ran across the Bombshelter to smack him when she over heard him telling it again. I think even Wendy was groaning at that hearing it more. I felt sorry for Daisy and Mia since they had'nt heard it yet. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

wmw999 2,589 #15 May 30, 2003 Glad you made it safe, and shared some good vibes with the hitchiker (and really glad it was one of the OK hitchikers...) AggieDave 6 #17 May 30, 2003 Yeah, right on! I have a habit of picking up hitch hikers. Some have been cool, some haven't been cool, I've actually had to pull over and damn near force one guy out of my truck with violence (he was getting very odd and very very beligerant). All in all, I still like to pick them up and give them a ride.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

freeflir29 0 #25 May 30, 2003 If you are in Columbus stop by "Barley's Brew Pub" on High street.(I think) Right across the side street from the Hampton Inn &Suites. They have the BEST damn Microbrew Pilsner I have EVER had. The Jack Daniels burger was awesome too. Glad the RV made it with a little help. PS...Please don't EVER tell me the duck joke...or any other for that matter.
