SpeedRacer 1 #1 May 31, 2003 On to the Hop Tips Special Edition! ***** Breaking News! The judge has issued a ruling in the trademark infringement legal battle between Sweetwater Brewing Company of Atlanta, GA and the Northern Virginia based Sweetwater Tavern brewpubs owned by Great American Restaurants. Unfortunately, our local Sweetwater Tavern will no longer be allowed to sell bottled versions of their Sweetwater Tavern Pale Ale and Sweetwater Tavern Oktoberfest via retail outlets. They are permitted to continue using the name within their three brewpubs but not on any labeled product. The bottled versions of the Sweetwater Tavern beers were brewed and packaged at the Old Dominion Brewing Company in Ashburn, VA and 110 cases of Sweetwater Tavern Pale Ale are still available for sale. All of the existing packaged beer must be sold or withdrawn from retail by Sunday, June 15, which also happens to be Father's Day. Two local retailers have stepped up to the plate and pledged their support of this effort. Beginning today, Whole Foods Market and Norm's Beer & Wine, both in Vienna, VA, will offer six packs at the deeply discounted price of $3.99 and case prices are even better. Call ahead to ensure availability; Jim Dorsch of Whole Foods can be reached at (703) 319-2000 and Norm Yow of Norm's Beer & Wine can be reached at (703) 242-0100. jfields 0 #3 May 31, 2003 SpeedRacer, That is a very intriguing idea. Are they good amber reusable bottles? And is the beer any good? Justin
SpeedRacer 1 #4 May 31, 2003 I have never tried that particular brand, so I don't know. But it might be worth the trip. Vienna, VA is just outside the DC beltway, so it wouldn't be a long drive. I am considering driving down there on Tuesday. Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------

jfields 0 #6 May 31, 2003 I called down there, and they are twist-offs. So it isn't worth the trip for me just to get some cheap but good beer. If it had been cheap good beer in reusable bottles, then I'd have picked up a good number of cases. Ah, well....
