Digital Picture Help

I am trying to upload my pictures to www.snapfish.com so that I can order prints of my digital pictures. I keep getting error messages that my photos could not be uploaded. Has anyone used this site before? Or, how/where do you recommend getting digital pictures printed?

Another question. Should I be resizing the pictures before I upload them?

No. Just upload them the way they are. The service works pretty good.

Thank you - it's going to take me forever to upload my pictures. I just uploaded a couple and it took about 1 minute each.

That's actually not too bad. My photos are about 4 meg each and the batch I uploaded from the dropzone.com boogie, about 120 photos, took about an hour on my DSL.

Once you've uploaded all your photos, you'll also want to go in and crop them and maybe do a few fixes. Yeah, it's all time consuming, but the results should be worth it.

Thank you for the tips. Do I have to crop them? Or, is this just an option? I have never had digital pictures printed before and am a little worried about how they are going to turn out.

You don't -have- to crop them, but sometimes they look better if you do.

The quick, cheap, fast way to go is just upload them and have 4x6 prints made of everything. This is roughly the same as taking them to a one-hour photo lab and not asking for anything special to be done to them.

Thank you again. I just figured out that you can drop and drag all the pictures you want to download. I did the first few one by one. This is all so new to me.

Buy a Epson 2200 printer and print them at home . I have 3 of these printers and they rock . I recently took two 8x10's to a film lab for them to compare . One was from a medium format negative scan that I printed on the epson and the other one was one that the lab had printed from the same negative . They picked the epson print as the highest quality print .

Thanks - I will check into the price for this. I have a decent printer already, but, it seems as if I go through so much ink to print just a few pictures. It almost seems more cost effective to have someone else print them.

It is definitely cheaper to use those services (unless you buy a huge wholesale supply of paper and ink). I print a lot of pictures from home, so I compared my costs to what it would cost to use one of those services and it looks like I'm spending about twice as much doing it at home (obviously that will vary depending on where you buy from and how much you buy at once). Now I continue to print from home anyway because I want complete control and instant gratification , but I'm definitely spending more money that way...
