Well, no it won't be the same - it is going to be waaaaay better. I envy you - the more scared you are now the better you will feel afterwards. You'll be happier than any first time tandem passenger.

Don't think about how scared you are now, think about how you are going to feel after you have landed and are walking around with THE biggest smile on your face.

And then think about all the fun you are going to have playing with Marcus - hell why don't you go wake him up right now for some 'dirt-diving'.... ;)

I had the same problem, every year I had to make a long brake (about6-7 months) and I was feeling scared before the first jump of the year. But two years ago when I got into the plane I suddelny relaxed. It was everything so familiar: the plane , the guys and I realized that there is no reason for me to be scared.
You'll see... it will be the same for you!

I don't have quite the numbers you do, but I just got back in the sky after 2 1/2 months back in April. I had to do a level 4 to get current so I had a JM with me. I had been having doubts about if I was even going to jump again.[:/] I've always been nervous anyway, and not being able to jump as much hasn't helped. When I did my recurrency jump I was a wreck until I stepped in the door and I felt the air.:)
You'll be fine as soon as the air hits your face!:)

I just keeping thinking about the things that could go wrong.

First mistake. Think about all the things that could go right. Nice exit, feeling the air, canopy dancing in the sky, soft landing, sense of euphoria after the jump and the feeling of accomplishment.

Get a couple of gear checks and make your first dive easy.

Ok, so i'm a bit late getting to it. I've been rather out of it for the past 2 weeks. By the time you see this you will have jumped and i hope you had the time of your life!! I am so happy you're feeling like yourself again and you're able to get back in the air.

well... if you've jumped already.. doesn't it feel great?!?!?

if not -- i broke my ankle on jump 230. I was out for 4 months with family and friends pouring anti-skydiving drivel down my throat tthe whole time....

sufficed to say, jump 231 was the scariest jump i ever made, but once i was out the door it all melted away, and it was just like i'd never left, but better ;)

git yerself out there girl!!! it'll all come back!

blue skies :)

Landing without injury is not necessarily evidence that you didn't fuck up... it just means you got away with it this time

You know, Ive had these DZs tell me that you dont want to take a break between jumps because you might forget everything. I think that is just a ploy they use to bring in more money, they dont want you to take your time but they try to "railroad" you through it, so they tell you that.

Ill bet even after a long, long break you dont forget a thing, and when you step out the door you just pick up from where you left off.

Maybe tomorrow....maybe...

Hey girl,

Go to the dz tomorrow, take your gear, but don't plan on jumping. Grab an understanding instructor/coach and talk about what kept you out of the plane today. Get in the hanging harness and practice your emergency procedures. Watch a lot of landings. See a lot of smiling skydivers.

If you feel like getting on the plane toward the end of the day, go for it. If you don't, you don't - you didn't plan to, if you're not comfortable or ready yet that's fine. If you feel like it you can always go back out to the dz next weekend.

Tonight think about how great it felt to be in freefall with your friends last August. You love this shit - I know you do. ;)

Relax and smile... the pulling and flaring part are like riding a bike.
