jeremyneas 0 #1 May 21, 2003 I believe the question is... How many spectres has performance designs made? I'd give them a ring on June 29th and find out what the serial number of the last spectre that was made. Should give you a great idea on the exact number produced. Of course i could be wrong. scottbre 0 #3 May 21, 2003 Assuming you actually figured out what the question was, why the hell would you want to tell the world, thus severely reducing your chances to actually win the contest by making all those other people eligible to be in the contest too? Jeremy That was one of 3 possible questions that I could identify. Trouble with the serial number method is that many products' numbering starts somewhere arbitrary. For example, every model of MG car started at serial number 251... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
kansasskydiver 0 #6 May 21, 2003 no with pd's canopies. a fellow jumpers sabre 2 is serial number 000011 he got it right after they introduced them<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!
jeremyneas 0 #7 May 21, 2003 Yeah, i think the serial is the assembly line number at pd. I've owned a Stiletto 150, 135, Spectre 135, and PD 190 in my career, but the i'm not sure if they number it in total of the line (ex spectre) or individual sizes (ex spectre 135, spectre 150) so you may have to get multiple serial numbers. klingeme 1 #8 June 2, 2003 I've got a Stilletto 120 with SN 16. Made in August of 93. I'd like to know if it is the 16 total, or just the 16th 120. Mark Klingelhoefer
KawiZX900 0 #9 June 2, 2003 I think you are wrong about what the question is..... you are about a country mile off, if I'm right... and I aint' gonna tell ya what i think it is......... jeremyneas 0 #11 June 2, 2003 Maybe, I don't know for sure, you'd have to call PD or talk to an older skydiver (I started in 1996). But 1993 sounds about when they started making stilettos. J.Neas

Swoopyswoop 0 #13 June 2, 2003 Thats not the question at all actually. But its neat to check out the serial number thing on the stilleto's. Mine was made in 93 also and bears the number 0000106. Does anyone really know when the stilleto's were first introduced? QuoteI believe the question is... How many spectres has performance designs made? jeremyneas 0 #18 June 3, 2003 This is actually the third or forth thread about it... but asked and answered. J.Neas
KawiZX900 0 #19 June 3, 2003 Maybee starting a thread about it isn't the worst idea, all ink is good ink kinda thing...product exposure and name recogniton.... NOW saying WHAT YOu THINK the answer is may ruin it for others,/ no one likes to here how a movie ends if they havnt seen it.... Or it could be a ploy at disinformation to get people to plug in the wrong answers so that it increases the odds for whoever has the right answer... but a thread about it in general...? why not... It's fun that PD set this up and I had a great time trying to crack the code and I thought it was a timely, innovative marketing campaign and give dap/props to the Art Director who thought it up....
