Dropzone.com Tent @ WFFC 2003

Recommended Posts

With a bit of an assist from Wingnut, I have been able to set up a simple one-click access for donations toward the tent at PayPal, just click on that link and make your contribution.

If you do not want to use PayPal but want to make a contribution, do as Sunshine and a few others have and PM me for a snail mail address.

BTW, I think I need to put a few other things out there for you to consider: the tent itself is $495, we will also need some $ for a couple couches (they start at $45 or so, full sized couches go about $75 or so), and will also need power strips, tarps, and other paraphernalia. Some of these goodies are left from last year and the people who have them have stated they will bring them along, but we will need more if the tent is going to rock the way it should.

BB will be assisting in the organization/setup after she gets her wind back from organizing the dz.com effort on Mem. Day in Perris.B|

Details will follow as they are (sort of) finalized.

Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

don't ya hate the upgrade though... 2.5% of what ya recive goes to them.. but ya can get a cool mastercard debit card from em to use what's in your account.. might make it easy to buy all the assosiated things for the tent.....

That 2.5% is only on credit card transactions, it's less than I would have to pay with a standard merchant account (3-3.75%). so I figured that it it makes it easier all around...

I made up a good chunk of the percentage by using the mastercard to buy computer hardware and a dz.com t-shirt. Cash back baby, funded directly back into the account!

Not a bad idea at all. Now if I was only using my own money for my own purposes that would work, but seeing as I am only seeking donations to reduce my expense; it seems unethical to try to make a profit from this endeavor.

Maybe next time.

I'm with fallinwoman herre. I think you came up ALOT short last year. Even if the cash bask just defrays a little of the cost, it's all good!

Use the card to pay for the tent! Get some of THAT back!

You are doing the work and taking the risk, I see nothing wrong with you profiting from it as well.

I snail mailed a small donation, please let me know if you are still way off and I'll find some more money to send you.

I dunno....I kinda hope you do make a profit here....I suspect you came up a bit short last year.

Let's see...last year...$495 for the tent +55 for the love seat is $550 if I can add.

I got 5 jump tix @$18 for $80, plus $88 or $98 in cash.

Yeah, I came up just a bit short, but I am not complaining. I stated last year that I wouldn't badger people nor beg, as I would right the balance off; this year I don't have that option, so I will badger and beg. I will keep bumping this thread up and/or starting new threads until I feel the matter is well in hand. I have an ace up my sleeve this year, so I am not worried, but I don't want to fleece him, either.

Those of you who have donated so far, thank you very much. I will give a total as soon as the checks that are in the mail have been received, but things are looking good.

OK, that part of my offer is done. Now to finish up the sign in board, and figure out a way to permanently tether the remote to the tv/vcr combo!

It's kinda needed. The front panel buttons for the tape mechanism popped out way back when I was driving over the road. If you have really thin fingers, and know which button is which, you don't need it, but the vast majority of people will need it.

I'm gonna pop the remote apart, find a non-vital area to drill a hole, and attach a cable between it and the tv. Yea, cable, not string.

Clay, that's fine. It's not that were that short on time, I just don't want to have this hanging for a long time.

That would be cool, but what about when you are jumping? Wouldn't work, ya know. All those flat flyers come in to look at a jump and sunny is nowhere to be found. Oh, yea, she's out standing on her head or something. ;)

I'm bringing this along so anyone can view or make a dub of any footage at anytime.

Gotta tether the remote, so it's always there to use.

The sign in board is almost ready. It's a dry erase, but I'm using permanent marker only. This is gonna be a nice momento. It's about 3' x 4', so we will have much more room to sign than last year.
