AggieDave 6 #2 June 3, 2003 UPS will, but only to certain locations and from certain locations. Call the manufacturer to ask about that. AggieDave 6 #4 June 3, 2003 Ahhh, right, I remember that thread. Yeah, give them a call, they should have all the info you need, but I bet its UPS sent from a gun shop or an actual UPS location (not a mailbox etc, or something like that).--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." FallRate 0 #5 June 3, 2003 As long as you ship it domestically and with no ammunition, FedEx treats it like a paperweight. FallRate
Luv2Fall 0 #6 June 3, 2003 Either UPS or FEDEX is fine. I've used UPS.....go to the main office in your area.......obviously no ammo.......I shipped w/o a mag, filled out the paperwork and off it went w/o a hitch.
Deuce 1 #7 June 3, 2003 UPS stopped shipping Civilian Marksmanship Program rifles a while back. I suggest FedEx. That's who the CMP uses now. I've gotten a few pieces via FedEx. UPS has left that sort of thing on my doorstep when it really should have been signed for. I'm a big UPS fan, but not for firearms.
rjackson 0 #8 June 3, 2003 Thats going to a vendor. I was under the impression that you had to ship firearms via licensed firearms dealers. (i.e. across state lines) Did the rules change or am I going on the wrong assumption.--------------------------------------------- Randy
Luv2Fall 0 #9 June 3, 2003 You can ship it back, to my understanding and experience, to a manufacturer........otherwise, you'll need a dealer to do it for you.
fasterfaller 0 #10 June 4, 2003 If you are shipping to a dealer or the company that made the gun you can ship direct . If shipping to a dealer you need to ship with a signed copy of the dealers ffl license . If shipping to another person , you MUST go through a dealer and I believe a 4473 must still be filled out by the person receiving the gun . BTW I am a class II manufacturer and ship and receive guns all the time .
Luv2Fall 0 #11 June 4, 2003 Direct to the manufacturer was what I was getting at.
dropdeded 0 #12 June 4, 2003 Yep,direct to the manufacturer. That would be where its goin. I looked up UPS's website this morning to get some info, called the 1 800 number and got some recording of a chick asking if I was horny.Kinda surprised me cause, well,at the time,I WAS kinda horny dropdeded------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -
