sangiro 26 #1 May 27, 2003 Heya all, As some of you may have noticed there has been some abuse of the Dropzone Mail application. At least one individual seem to be registering usernames and sending spam from his Dropzone.com mail account. The only way I can really control this is to limit the number of messages a person can send. We've just implemented a patch to help me do this. I have two variables to play with but I'd like to hear from people who actually use the Dropzone.com Mail account what the limitations should be set to. The two variables are: 1) Number of emails a person can send per day 2) Number of people (email addresses) that can be included in a single mailing. So, I'm tempted to make this pretty tight till this person goes away. How about: 1) 15 2) 6 Thoughts? Tell me how you guys use it - if you use it legitimately. quade 4 #3 May 27, 2003 I'd say that's pretty reasonable for a free service.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
jtval 0 #4 May 27, 2003 well that sucks that they would do that. I seldom use it but I would suggest limiting the number of email not necc. the number of people . but as I said I only use it for skydiving stuffMy photos My Videos
sangiro 26 #5 May 27, 2003 On the 15/6... the idea would be to bump this up again later and hopefully remove it completely in the future.Safe swoops Sangiro
beowulf 1 #6 May 27, 2003 sounds good to me. I would warn this person and if they refused to stop spamming then I would revoke their membership. Free doesn't mean free to abuse

skybytch 273 #17 May 27, 2003 I'm using it for all my personal email now. I'd have no problem with the limits you mentioned. I send more pm's than I do emails right now anyway. That may change in 3 1/2 days though...

QuickDraw 0 #22 May 27, 2003 QuoteThoughts? Tell me how you guys use it - if you use it legitimately. I use it to receive rather than send, anyway most people have a regular account to send stuff from so a limit would not bother me. Why not just kick his ass and be done with it. -- Hope you don't die. -- I'm fucking winning
SkydiveMonkey 0 #23 May 27, 2003 Why not make it 15 / 3? How many people here send the same email to more than 3 people at once?____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
TEB6363 0 #24 May 27, 2003 Yep, I agree that 15/6 seems pretty darn good for a free service Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
SkymonkeyONE 4 #25 May 27, 2003 Right. I am not sure there how many people actually regularly use this service regularly. Hell, I can't ever get my mail to get to me on my dropozne.com account, so I don't ever really use it at all. Chuck
