Zenister 0 #2 June 10, 2003 June 11th yes there are some places you can set up tents.. talk to Andy, Kerri or Jesse for exactly locations. They also have (a few) bunkbeds in the DZ 'hanger' that might be open if you dont like to sleep outside.. there are a few B&B type places near by but not any hotels really close to the DZ...____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. Yeah, there's plenty of room to set up a tent, especially on a non-boogie weekend. I've also slept on the accuracy tuffet a few times and on couches in the TV room. I did spend one weekend in a hotel that seems like it was less than 10 miles away, but I don't remember where it was. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" wlie 0 #9 June 10, 2003 I'll be there on June 21st, and I'm sure quiet a number of dz.commers will too. BTW, Kapowsin will be hosting Strawberry Fest that day. It's basically a potluck. While the DZ supplies the strawberries and ice, you supply your own booze. We all hang out, eat and drink, and do stupid human tricks, and have a good time. I'm predicting that there'll be quiet a huge turn out that day.My other ride is the relative wind.
Zenister 0 #10 June 10, 2003 according to the calender the strawberry fest is the 20th.. hmm better ask for confirmation...____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Amazon 7 #15 June 10, 2003 BIZZY BIZZY... I am sitting here in a SQL Performance and Optimization class on campus for the next 3 days... good thing its nasty and yucky out or I would be unhappy. I get to be a day person all week. It is so weird having to drive to Redmond in the damn traffic. I work night shift so I get to see all these day people stuck in traffic on my way home from work I still have the sailboat. I need to get it up here though. Its down at the mouth of the Columbia River.....I love sailing... very slow and relaxing... except when you go whitewater sailing out across the Columbia River Bar... Scares the hell out of my friends.. Even on a no wind day the Ebb tide will get you 8 to 10 ft current swells going out to sea. If you add in a few NW Swells coming in from the Gulf of Alaska fighting the current swells... its quite the ride in a 22' sloop....yeee haaaa No jumping for me this weekend I will be getting the motor boat ready for next week. I have to drive it out to Neah Bay. I refuse to pay the WA State Ferries $110 to ferry it across to Kingston from Edmonds it is 13' high at the top of the radar arch and the overall length is long so they hit hard.... Even my truck will only cost me $20 or so to go to Tacoma and take Hwy 16 across Galopin Gertie II.... heck .. that is enough savings for a few jumps. Maybe I should take a detour with the boat and stop by Kapowsin Amazon
Zenister 0 #16 June 10, 2003 well when/if you get the sailboat out here i'd love to play crew..used to run regattas in with my fencing coach in his J22..of course there was nothing else on the lake in its class so we would play pirate as the other boats finished...i can remember swinging across on to a (rather drunk) captains boat with a saber clenched in my teeth and demanding "your bread, your beer and your bikini top!" only took it out on the gulf once with him but i LOVED stormy days on the lake..with a good tail wind that boat would literally fly across the water...____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
