FliegendeWolf 0 #1 June 11, 2003 Hey all, Just checked ups.com and the rig that I've made an offer on was signed for by my rigger at 12:00 Noon. Rig hunting has been a bitch because of my size. I'm 5'6" and 143 lbs. My rigger has suggested I look at a rig with 170 sq ft main. Well, I could not find a rig that both had a main large enough for me to handle and a harness small enough to fit me. So I found a Vector with Reserve being sold by a girl about my ht/wt. PLEASE send some vibes over to Napoleon, MI that this rig works out for me!! And if it does, onto finding a 170 main and a cypres at a good price.A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All

CanuckInUSA 0 #16 June 11, 2003 Quote Well, without a main or cypres or RSL I won't be able to try the rig this weekend, but I'm planning on making a few jumps anyway. For sure you won't be jumping with a main. But you can jump without a cypres (especially if you're doing solos) and I'd prefer to not jump without an RSL (but that's just me). Don't get me wrong, the cypres is a good thing to have. But you shouldn't need it if a mid air collision is not a big concern. So what kind of main have you and your instructors been talking about? I know you said you wanted a 170, but what manufactorer/model? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

CanuckInUSA 0 #25 June 11, 2003 Quote Can't jump without RSL or Cypres until I'm off student status. My bad ... I forgot about that. Quote I'm shooting for a Sabre/Sabre2/Spectre/Triathlon 175/Hornet, but I'm willing to take a look at anything that comes along. I've never jumped a Hornet but I've jumped all the others (they are all good), but without a doubt my favorite of the lot is the Sabre2 (it's an awesome canopy with tons of lift). I also understand that the Safire2 is a very good intermediate type of canopy so you might want to consider that one as well (if you find a good deal).
