California Politics, leading the pack

So, the trouble in Gray Davis face is beginning to boil over. Congressman Darrell Issa himself said that just about anyone would be a better govenor than Davis, including Feinstein and SF Mayor Brown.

Then, earlier today on CNN, I saw a clip that Dr. Rice "looked forward to returning to California" as part of a response to her future in politics.

So, whether or not you live here, what do you think? Personally, Dr. Rice would have my vote, with Riordan a distant second.

I would vote for Rice as well, but I would just as soon wait until the next election. Davis has caused a lot of problems but not to the extent that he has to be ousted outside of the normal electoral process. I think trying to get around that process has some negative effects on a representative government as a whole.

Perhaps, but that same representative mechanism is also what is allowing this recall process. If I see a petition, I'll sign it. If congress can impeach a President, if scandals can force a resignation, then voters or the system they run through should be able to force the issue of leadership in their society.

I'd love to see Condi Rice as Governor of CA. Two terms later she would be an incredible VP candidate with an impressive resume.

Now we just have to make her a libertarian.....
