lummy 4 #1 June 16, 2003 I have a 7 yr old daughter and one of our morning rituals is arguing about what clothes she is going to wear that day. (Apparently, I have no fashion sense, but HEY, I'm REALLY good at ponies....) Anyways, after shooting down two ensembles, I picked a pair of jeans that are skin tight and asked if they would work. She looks at them and says " Yeah, those will be great for the bars" It seems that tight pants are good for the monkey barsI promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. misskriss 0 #5 June 16, 2003 I know.......it's a struggle. With the youngest who is nine I give her a choice of a few outfits and let her pick..that way she feels that she is choosing which she is really but it's from a group that I picked.. Now the fun is my other daughter who is almost 11 walking around....."look at my boobies.. I think they are growing... I can push them out....seeeeeeeee.. can you see them.." and the REAL FUN.. is the 14 yr old who says..." No one talk to me, I have PMS." A house full of girls...aaaahhhhh the joy.. DJL 235 #8 June 16, 2003 QuoteI know.......it's a struggle. With the youngest who is nine I give her a choice of a few outfits and let her pick..that way she feels that she is choosing which I was going to say something along the same lines. This especially applies to strong headed children. If you let your kids do more of the choosing when they're little, such as what they wear and what they eat then later on they'll be able to make decisions on their own and will learn what's good and what's bad. These kind of kids will have a stronger sense of self and will be stronger leaders and won't just go along with the crowd. Edit: So, if they want to wear a pair of long wool pants in the middle of summer then let them. The next time they'll think about it. If you say, "No" instead of "Well, it's going to be hot today, but it's your call" then they'll just put up a fight and won't learn. All of this according to a 60 Minute's special I saw."I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
