PilotChick 0 #1 June 9, 2003 Please pray for the repose of the soul of my dear brother-in-Christ and mentor Roger Nelson. He was revived at the scene, and he bore Christian witness to the ambulance drivers, "I'm going home. . . I'm going home. . ." I cannot tell you how much I loved this man or how much support and help he has been for me as a jumper, a writer, a pilot, and a Christian. The last time I saw him, he told me, "M, I did not build an airport here at Skydive Chicago. . . I build a church." My dear friend Roger has gone home. . . He's in Heaven now. . . reminding the Angels to do their gear checks. . . May he rest in Peace. Amen Marcelaine -- Pilot Chick "TGIF! Thank GOD I Fly!" tigra 0 #3 June 9, 2003 Why the attitude, Marc? She's hurting as are we all. I realize there are rules for this forum, guidelines for content, etc. But last I heard, sensitivity and decency were still allowed. maura

Remember we can't hear voice inflection while reading these forums. Since I know Marc I can hear him saying it matter of factly rather than hostily. I am going to ask that the Moderators move this thread to Talk Back and delete mine, your, and Marc's post. There are a lot of newbies on here just because of this Incident and I don't want anyone getting upset at anyone else. We're all pretty on edge about all this as it is. Respectfully, Chris
freakydiver 0 #5 June 9, 2003 I would have to agree - this is really the Incident forum and condolences should be posted in talkback. I am truly hurt by this incident, but I will post my sorrow in the other forum to keep the main thread alive here. Sad day indeed )-: -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
PilotChick 0 #6 June 17, 2003 Hey Maura! Thanks for coming to my defense with this SkyMedic guy. Poor thing. . . he definitely has some issues :-) Who would ever dream that a prayer request would draw such anger! I just got around to opening my email when I got home last night. He sent me a PM. I wish I had saved it. He was angry because I used the phrase ambulance driver instead of paramedic in my posting. He was FURIOUS! I sent him an apology :-) It was nice to see you this weekend. Love. -mw- -- Pilot Chick "TGIF! Thank GOD I Fly!"

TitaniumLegs 8 #8 June 17, 2003 QuoteHe was angry because I used the phrase ambulance driver instead of paramedic in my posting. Are all ambulance drivers paramedics? Could it be that some are EMTs, or possibly not medically trained at all? Maybe some are actual doctors? Either way, this is like getting pissed off when a whuffo asks us about "pulling the string" to deploy, as if we activate by pulling a little piece of red reserve seal safety tie, or every time I tell a whuffo I broke my legs "What happened? Did your chute not open?" At least you didn't call him a bus driver - they do call ambulances "busses" in some places. (>o|-< If you don't believe me, ask me.
