Jumpsuits with high fall rate

Recommended Posts

Call the manufacturer and ask them. They have lots of experience with this. Fabric, fit, & design matter! Be sure to get measured by someone who knows what they are doing...FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS FOR MEASUREMENT CLOSELY....AND THEN REPEAT THE MEASUREMENTS!
The choices we make have consequences, for us & for others!

Hey, I just got my A license last month and I'm 5'11'' and only weigh 140lbs. I was wondering what jumpsuit would be the best to purchase in order to have a faster fall rate?

The great thing about all the suit manufacturers is that they have so much experience in which fabrics and how much and where it needs to go to meet any body type to maximize the ability to fall within the normal range. (how's that for a run on sentence?)

At 6'6" and 240# can easily fall at a range from 86 to 130MPH, so I have flown with a wide range of sizes, gender and skill levels on a single skydive. Guess which one I am... :Dhttp://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=93114;

Just pick a suit manufacturer and let them do their job. They're very good at it.
Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I noticed that most newer jumpers need assistance to fall faster at the beginning. But even the lighter ones tend to fall faster once they are beyond 100+ flat/belly fly jumps, especially with systematic training (i. e. RW camp etc)
So my advice is: Have a tighter suit but not too tight and consider a weight belt. Allows for quite nice a range by simply varying the weight (and a more or less hard arch, of course ;))

The sky is not the limit. The ground is.

Hi Part of your fall rate is also determind by your position of your upper body. If your catching(cupping) air with your upper body your going to fall slower.

With the same jumpsuit and your throw your chest out and shoulders back you'll be more streamlined
and fall faster.

Weight belts:D drink plenty of water befor you go up on the load you'll be amazed how fast you can fall to keep from peeing in your jumpsuit. :ph34r:
