AggieDave 6 #1 June 17, 2003 Alrighty, I'm trying my best to work out the money/math involved to go to WFFC this year. For the round trip it'll cost me about $300 in gas. I was looking on the WFFC site and didn't see a lot of prices. I did notice that pre-reg price and the 10-block ticket price. Now, what about all the "other" stuff, like food, camping fee, parking fee, etc. Can someone who went last year fill me in? I really want to go and I'm really trying to figure out a way to make it happen.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Jimbo 0 #3 June 17, 2003 * Food: Prices aren't out of line for food, however, it's expensive when you're paying for every meal. Plan to spend ~$6.00 a meal on the DZ and more or less if you plan to head into town. * Camping fee: None if you're pitching a tent. At least I don't recall there being one last year. * Parking fee: I don't recall one of those either. " How much will I spend" seems to be a common question about the WFFC. "Everything you've got" is the appropriate answer, I think. - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
Snowwhite 0 #4 June 17, 2003 QuoteAnyone? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? Mexican restaurant in town, meals from 3.75 and up, Walmart, and a couple of grocery stores close by. No parking fee, no camping fee if you are camping in the rough, beer is free after the last plane takes off, if you like Miller Lite. Free soda, too. Showers, and shuttles on site, no charge.Entertainment every night, free. Spend everything you can make/save/borrow/steal on jumps. I'm sure that I've forgotten stuff, but email me if you have anymore questions.......skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
PhreeZone 20 #5 June 17, 2003 The regestration fee covers your on site camping fee. I spent $1300 last year and layed around most the time. Having Mullins King Air there is then the rest of the stuff does'nt help at all either.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
RevJim 0 #6 June 17, 2003 Don't forget the C130 ticket, man! I couldn't afford one last year, and wasn't planning on jumping it, until a friend heard an announcement about a C130 jump for 2 regular jump tickets. I was SOOOOO there! Best choice I made the entire convention! It's something ya just gotta do!It's your life, live it! I only made 9 jumps, two of which were helicopter jumps. Marc and I ate on the DZ. We had a blast without breaking the bank. Thankfully I have saved a bit more money for this year..... ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!
 jfields 0 #12 June 17, 2003 I'm only going to be there for a little less than 4 whole days. I have preregistered and paid for 20 regular jumps, 1 helicopter, 1 C-130 and 1 22k jump. That was a ballpark guess of what I'd have time for. It was $606. My airfare from Maryland was about $250. I'll be tenting it. I figure $20-25/day food & better beer. So a total of about $1000 for 4 days. Man, that sounds bad.
