sunshine 2 #26 June 17, 2003 QuoteDude....it took me about a week to even get feeling somewhat "normal" again. 8 days of jumping, drinking like a VIKING, and only sleeping 4-5 hours per night takes it's toll. I'm jealous. I wish i would've got that much sleep. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!

PhreeZone 20 #32 June 17, 2003 Eloy is nice in the middle of the winter when your DZ might be really slow or closed. WFFC in the middle of winter has about 6-8 inches snow on it. VectorBoy 0 #34 June 17, 2003 Can someone describe the showers, baths and tent city for us?
PhreeZone 20 #35 June 17, 2003 Showers last year was one of the trailers they move around for wilderness firefighting crews. Nothing great. The tent city is... tent city. Pretty much find an open area and claim it as yours. Bathrooms were porta pottys last year but I think there was talk of adding more this year again. Its pretty much your standerd country fair type environment. If your looking for amminities.. head to SDC for Summerfest since WFFC only has the planes, the runways, the pond, the people and the other things... not nice places to hang out in. SDC's bathrooms are nicer then some DZ's offices. I'm not joking either...Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
whocares 0 #36 June 17, 2003 SDC is the place to be for a great place to skydive and to hang out. They now have a 25 foot trampoline in the center of the pond. Horseback riding, canoe rental, 2000 acres to camp on, full RV hook ups etc. Clean showers, real shitters. Oh yes, Kick ass food too. Ummm forgot about the 300 person auditorium with a 35,000 watt sound system too. Yikes, a full VIP bar ummm booze. I guess I know where I will be. Well if your going to Eloy you will probably have someone going with you to help pay for gas and enough Shiner to support us for a week......ME!!! "Sacrifice is a part of life. It is supposed to be. PhreeZone 20 #39 June 18, 2003 Summerfest is definitally an option for those that are traveling in from out of the area and have a car. I've been to both and while both are fun... they have different vibes and different crowds. Last year they were doing a lot of really really big freefly stuff at SDC so thats where the top freefliers were, while WFFC was tossing up lots of loads with dozens of 5-8 ways with great organizers. There is just something different about WFFC thats really hard to explain to people that have never been there.... oh.. wait its the Jello shot cart that makes it hard to explain things That and Margirita Mondays, the RB iniations, the Hellfish jumps and the list goes on. SkyPsycho 0 #40 June 18, 2003 QuoteMuch better beer: Skydiver Blonde And I might be persuaded to bring the last of my 6 packs to WFFC for a few people. look me up, ill buy em off ya.......... i called to have it shipped and it was going to cost more for the shipping than the beer itself................ _______________________________ HK MP5SD.........silence is golden
PhreeZone 20 #41 June 18, 2003 I did the same... I finally sucked it up and paid for the shipping. I bought a case of it. One six pack went to my best 6 friends at my DZ on opening weekend... Kinda of a here's to a great safe season thing. Six pack #2 was taken as payment of a beer debt to Perris at Memorial day. Well worth the cause there (that box had more miles on it then ANY other beer there). I got to share it with 6 DZ.commers that I would have never met if not for this site. Six pack #3 is going to Raeford at the 4th of July (-2 being saved for personal gifts). I already know which 4 people are getting a bottle. Six pack #4 is being taken to Rantoul and handed out as thank yous to people that I run into that make the convention special for me in some way. I'm sure BillVon and Amy will get one since I had such a good time with them last year. The other 4 are going to be on ice all week.... What you need to do is bribe people attending both Lost Prarie and WFFC to bring you a few cases... I happen to know a few people like that which I need to start bribing now Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
