In case anyone didnt know Steven hill was killed in a 182 cessna crash at cushing oklahoma saturday. Dont know the details and dont care to post them here. Just wanted to say that I flew with Steven several times and he was a wonderful individual. He was an excellent top ace pilot and a super human being. If anyone didnt know him, you truly missed out on knowing one of the nicest and outgoing person that there ever was. I will catch up with you later.

Even though Mike Palmer, the DZO of Oklahoma Skydiving Center and I didn't part on the best of terms, I have nothing but well wishes and condolences to him, his staff, and the family and friends of the pilot that was lost and the students who were injured.

OSC staff aren't just the people you hang with on the weekend, they treat each other as deep as family and this loss will be hitting them really hard.

I never knew Steven, he wasn't flying when I left last year, but if he was flying for Mike then he was one of the best.

OSC has enjoyed an impeccable safety record up until this incident. The student gear is top notch, the student program is well planned, and Mike goes above & beyond when it comes to airplane maintenance and putting money back into his business to make it better and safer. Mike's #1 policy is to "err on the side of safety" as he puts it.

My thoughts and prayers go out to him, the instructors I know there (Bobby, Tommy, Tony, & Larry) and the rest of the staff (Jeri, Augie, and Andy).

I couldn't have said it better. Mike is a personal friend of Merrick's mom who lives in the VERY small town where the DZ is, and she wouldn't have ever helped us get that first jump there if the reputation and safety record weren't impeccible.

That DZ will always have my heart as my 'home DZ' where all of my best memories were made. Everyone there is in our prayers at this difficult time.

Pam
