The line starts with me. So, um, Mark, when can you get me the keys? So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! Shark 0 #54 June 23, 2003 Quote Would you explain to an experienced jumper how to cut away? Kill lines have been common since I started jumping, and I can't think of anyone not using them. I have no idea how long they've been around. I would assume he knew about it. After their currency had lapsed, yes. You see, you are assuming. Being an instructor I do not assuming anything. Just because a student has a perfect arch during the dirt dive doesn't mean they will do it in the air. Just because a level 3 student waves off at 5 doesn't mean he's going to pull. I've had one do a PRCP and go back into FF. I docked and pulled. Never assume.

Shark 0 #57 June 23, 2003 Quote When I sold my first container and canopy, it was to a newbie and I took some time with him to explain every specific of this gear. I really didn't felt the same way with this guys that was more experienced than me... I felt responsible anyway and will not do the same mistake again. Cool. I think you do understand, but it is interesting that some people appear to be slamming the guy.
Shark 0 #58 June 23, 2003 Quote We are talking about someone who has been in the sport for 12 years and has 600+ skydives at many DZ's... ... i would assume he knows. Well, shit happens. With 12 years in the sport and over 600 jumps is he qualified to jump sub-100 sq. ft. canopy? According to some of the threads he could be. But that's another debate. You are correct, it is a moot point now.

crapflinger2000 1 #60 June 24, 2003 Did we mention that his cypres fires on every jump? Seriously, I think it is just a case of complacency aggravated by a few (legitimate) assumptions... no big deal, he won't make the mistake again, the parties involved will quiz people a little more in the future... all's well that ends well... __________________________________________________ What would Vic Mackey do?
