[image] tag?

If you look at the text box for your sig-line, you'll see that it references an [image] tag for implanting an image in your post.

I played with it a while to see if I could get it to work, it no worky...

I guess HH turned it off.

Would you like to see it activated?

Yeah, but then you could host the image somewhere else instead of uploading an attatchment and have it shown in the post.

It would save HH money.

I just like the idea of having the image in the post instead of having to open another window...

Maybe. Even so, I'm on dialup, and I really, really wouldn't want every thread to suddenly be filled with 100k JPEGs (legitimate or not). Look at threads on Fark, for example.

Plus, for most users (including me, and I consider myself more computer-savvy than average), scaling and attaching an image is simpler than scaling, FTPing, and linking.

And I don't have a problem with it. But then again, I havne't been on a dialup in 8 years.

I consider FTPing easier then the time consuming Attachment upload process here...

Yup - It's turned off. Lots of reasons and you guys mentioned a bunch of them already. I big one is bandwidth. With images in the posts you force people to download an image (and my server to serve it up!) simply by clicking on the thread. Now you have to click on a link first. You have a choice, I save bandwidth.

Another big reason is consistency. Remember when you asked about why the "advanced Editor" is turned off and I said: "Because...." I can only imagine what this place will look like if I enable image posting to the threads.
