alec86 0 #1 January 14, 2012 Hi the last jump I did was 30th oct and the ground was very wet on landing, got home and opened up the main to dry it off but forgot about my alti which got a bit damp. just getting everything out to check it over and noticed the bag I keep it in smells a bit musty, my question is would this of had any ill effects on it? and how water prof are analog alti's?? its a rubnik analog altimeterSpank the Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

jonathan.newman 1 #3 January 15, 2012 I'm not familiar with your particular alti, but if it is like most analogs, there are four screws on the back. Take these screws out and look under the cover. The guts of the alti are probably in a hermetically sealed metal can. You can wipe this off and put it back together. The strap is probably nylon, and thus isn't affected by moisture.
