freeflyfrog 0 #1 June 30, 2003 Hey all, just thought I'd share this with my fellow skydivers. A friend of mine just discovered a VERY sneaky practice perpetrated by Fandango.com and other online services. So, just in case you were unaware, here goes... BTW, this is a close friend and I have no reason to doubt his story: Quote I had my first brush with online credit card fraud this weekend. I signed up for a movie-ticket purchasing site called Fandango.com. What I didn't know was that buried deep in the privacy policy on their site was an agreement that I would sign up for a site called Reservation Rewards which would charge me $7.00 a month. Now I never directly signed up with thisservice. There were no welcome emails or any other way of knowing that I was signed up except the $7.00 charge on my bank statement. Check your statements carefully! This is how this company does business. They sneak a $7.00 charge onto your bill every month and hope you won't notice. When you do a search for Reservation Rewards at Google.com, you find pages and pages of complaints against them from angry consumers like me. The worst part is, it's not just Fandango.com that does this. Other guilty parties are 1800Flowers.com, Classmates.com and more. Shitty, huh? Makes me think twice about those "convenient" online services. Caveat emptor!

EricaH 0 #3 June 30, 2003 That is shitty!! RRGGGHHH - bad people suck! There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear. PMS #227 (just like the TV show)
Push 0 #4 June 30, 2003 Moral of the story is, don't use your credit card for something you can do in real life unless the person you are dealing with is an actual person, and not some faceless dot com. -- Toggle Whippin' Yahoo Skydiving is easy. All you have to do is relax while plummetting at 120 mph from 10,000' with nothing but some nylon and webbing to save you.
BlueEyedMonster 0 #5 June 30, 2003 I've bought tickets there several times, but I never signed up to be a user. Never had the problem.
