Actually Faber, and Skreamer, who are both from EUROPE clearly understood my statement clearly.

Huh? I am from South Africa. I was taking the piss out of you feeling victimized in Europe for being hispanic, which is why I mentioned Spain. I mentioned Remi and France because he is French-Canadian (which means he stinks of garlic and is stupid).

Everybody in Europe does not believe most Americans to be over-weight, ignorant and arrogant.

It has nothing to do with any particular country, but as a general interpretation of the attitude of most EUROPEANS towards the AMERICAS in general. I am not saying that all the people from EUROPE are like that, but every single country there has had an issue with nationality/ethniticty so fierce, they have actually (I think there are to WW as fact) managed to kill more people throughout the ages
and instill, most of the population idea is that they are trully more civilized than any american country (with the american being as a whole continent).

You will probably discuss and argue that I am generalizing, which is mostly true, but in my honest opinion, the reality is that most of the countries in EUROPE, including FRANCE and GERMANY, will have somewhat of a lookdown attitude from anyone coming from here. In some sarcastic way or another. I speak this from first hand experience since I did live in 4 countries in that continent, and travelled about 20 more. So don't tell me they are not prejudiced over there, being hispanic, that is something I did encounter A LOT.

Get it?

ok, my 2 cents:

i'm german and i have no lookdown attitude to anyone in the U.S.
I have some very good friends (most of them are musicians) who are citizens of the United States of America, some of them live here in Munich, and some others, who are spread over the United States. Most of my idols in music, art, sience and humanity are/were citizens of the United States. I'd like to visit the United States soon, because there are so many things that are fascinating me. Most of the movies i'm watching were made in USA. My favourite instrument, a Minimoog Synthesizer from 1974, was made in USA.

Please let me asure you, that i have no lookdown attitude, no we-are-better-attitude, no whatever against the people living in the United States.

But i do have something against the momentary U.S. administration. And this is a big difference! And i'm sure i'm not alone.

Here's the link to our newspaper - I read this in print this morning - maybe the link will work

Strange, though, that I can't find it out there either.

One of the cool things about this board is that you get first-hand views on issues like this from all over the world.

Very true, Bill.

I was (am) surprised that our newspaper may have been one of the few to pick this story up. It's neat to be the one to catch something, um, pre-second ...;). It might be even neater if our main Daly paper's editor got caught in a Snope :ph34r::ph34r:
