Even worse idea than marriage. If you live with someone and they leave (along with your belongings or cash) there's no way to recoup. There's a system in place for divying up marital assets, but if you just live with someone, it comes down to he said/she said.

It depends on the laws in the locale in which you reside. Some states have a "common law" statute, where people who co-habitate for a certain amount of time are considered for legal purposes to be "married".

They sure do, but a divorce court still won't touch it. Common law marriage pretty much means squat.

Perhaps you could be more aware if you read to what is going on family courts around the country.....

And see what really little rights men tend to have (unless you are filthy rich and pay for a better lawyer) in them.
