outofit 0 #1 July 2, 2003 don't know all the details, but a co-worker of mine who is a kentucky state trooper shot and and killed a guy today on a routine traffic stop. this job really isn't easy and the sacrifices we make are large! It is better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool!

misskriss 0 #3 July 2, 2003 Very true. We just lost a local police officer this weekend. They had just robbed an IHOP and he pulled them over on an unrelated traffic incident. The kid who had assaulted a police officer once before pulled his gun.... they both fired, both dead. The officer leaves behind a wife and a 9 month old son. Also lost within the past couple weeks....... a VA state trooper and his nine year old son...hit by a drunk driver. I keep these men and women who protect and serve in my prayers daily. BlueEyedMonster 0 #5 July 2, 2003 I don't pray, but these officers have my utmost respect and gratitude. Thank you and my best wishes to your co-worker.
Michele 1 #6 July 2, 2003 In Riverside county, CA, yesterday, an officer was shot in the leg during a routine traffic stop. He was shot with a cross-bow; the arrow fractured his leg. He pulled the arrow from his leg, shoo'd the ladies on their way, and, after a house-to-house search by every officer in the area, arrested a 42 year old man. Thanks, to all law enforcement officers. You are always in my prayers, and I thank all of you for doing what you do. Muenkel 0 #7 July 2, 2003 My prayers are for both the trooper, who must really be going through hell right now and also the one that was killed. He's a human being too, who unfortunately made a bad decision. Chris _________________________________________ Chris

It seems to me the person who was subjected to the "routine traffic stop" is more in need of prayers (from those who believe in such things) and that he was the one who made the ultimate sacrifice. Yep, and also he could have been a little more careful and check what was on the guy's hand before deciding to shoot...."According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
