Okay, who knows anything about infrared technology?
Specifically, my boss asked me to a bit of research for her. She has a new GMC Yukon that came with a dvd systems, including 2 IR headphones. She wants to get a few more, but maybe cheaper than the $75.00/piece manufacturer price.
Will a set of ANY IR headphones work? I have searched and found nothing so far. But, from my limited understanding of IR, I wouldn't THINK that there are NOT multiple 'frequencies' of IR transmission, but then again, I don't know much about IR.
Thanks for any input.

IR works sending 'sequences' of Infra Red light like 'flashes' of 'invisible' light.

Check the manual and see if they are compatible with other brands, if that's the case, cool, otherwise your boss will have to pay the price.

Actually, I just found out that her husband is friends with the owner of a local stereo/customization shop that does installs of these type systems. Told her to give them a talking to/maybe go in and actually try a set headphones that they sell.
