kansasskydiver 0 #1 July 2, 2003 Just curious if anyone knows of any special sites to go to that have cheap tickets. I've tried the normals ones expedia, travelocity, orbitz. Thanks in advanceChris<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!

PhillyKev 0 #3 July 2, 2003 I've had decent luck by going to the sites you mentioned to find which particular flight is the cheapest, then going to the airlines website itself and looking up that flight. About 50% of the time it's even cheaper directly from the airline.
Jib 0 #4 July 2, 2003 You're in school, right? Try one of the student travel places. They used to be STA and Council (or something like that), but that was a while ago. Look in a "Let's Go..." at a bookstore for the current ones. The cheapest flight's probably through Miami. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Remster 30 #5 July 2, 2003 www.priceline.com Shop around 1st, find the best price, then make a bid for lower. You may not get good departure times, so if thats important to you, I would not recomend it. Also, the trip must originate from the US.Remster
PhillyKev 0 #6 July 2, 2003 Don't use priceline. I did, once, flying from Philly to Toronto. It was via Detroit with a 4 hour layover. I drove instead and got there faster.

John4455 0 #10 July 2, 2003 I have a friend that has traveled to Brazil 4 times in the last year. Three of the four times her flight was delayed a least 24 hours. How do ya like it Johnny?
kansasskydiver 0 #11 July 2, 2003 hmm that's not good. what airline and from what city? i've traveled between the usa and brasil since 94 and haven't had a problem yet that was major, just long wait times in Ohare or Miami due to the nature of early arrival. The problem is that I'm buying the ticket this time, before it was all taken care of and, well when you're 12, you don't really pay too much attention to how much things cost. The cheapest I've found was on United for either 588 out of Miami or 699 our of Kansas city. 699 out of Kansas City would put me in Brasil for New Years though...<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist! John4455 0 #12 July 2, 2003 I think it was Varig. She would fly from Salvador to Sa Paulo. (very not sure of the spelling) and would get delayed there. It also happened to my wife and another one of her friends also. They overbook the flights. They treat you well though. Hotel and food. Check AOL, its travel at aol or something like that, last Sunday I heard that Delta had a good price to Brazil. How do ya like it Johnny?
Jib 0 #13 July 2, 2003 Quotein december after school. will be the last time i get to go down and see everyone before i graduate... Since you have that much time, I *think* with Travelocity, you can arrange to get an email when a flight between 2 cities drops to a certain price. You can also find a tour company specializing in Brazil. Sometimes you can buy cheap air off them, since they buy bulk seats for tours. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. wmw999 2,589 #14 July 2, 2003 If you search on Altavista/Google/whatever with the words "cheap" "airfare" "brazil" (or whatever city) you might find a good deal. But those are pretty good fares for Christmas time. I'm in the same position, but since I'm likely to be flying with my dad, it's probably going to be Continental regardless, because they fly straight from Houston. TheAnvil 0 #15 July 2, 2003 Check out these Bubbas. You have to go to more than one country - or at least you used to - but the rates they got for me going to Africa were UNREAL compared to the vendors you mentioned. http://www.airtreks.com/ Make sure you try a suco acai, see the Iguacu cataracts, try a capharinia, do a churrascaria, and have a few chopees. I love that country. Beers, Vinny the Anvil Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

kansasskydiver 0 #17 July 3, 2003 I'm going home to Sao Paulo, then after that not for sure. I'd like to go up to Rio again and then up north as I've never been up there. I'd also like to see the falls down south. The point of the trip though is to get home! I haven't been to Brasil in 2 years. Estou com saudade <--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist! w4p2 0 #18 July 3, 2003 Try arremate.com They sell tickets that people have received with milage points. If you are lucky, you can get NY-Rio with USD 300 +- depending of the season. Good luck: JL
 wmw999 2,589 #19 July 3, 2003 So far I seem to be batting 1000. As in more than $1000 round trip from Houston... And the only thing I look forward to less is making a connection at Christmas, especially flying with my dad. I'll try arremate.
 marcandalysse 0 #21 July 3, 2003 you know there are LOTS of Brasilian travel companies in Orlando and Miami area, if you can get a copy of 'Brasileiras e Brasileiros' paper from Orlando it has many ads. However, I can't remember their name and I don't have a copy of the colligan handy... I think it was sta or cta travel... also, if you buy your ticket directly from the airline, always ask if they have student fares... sometimes they do, and its worth a shot.
