LadySkyDIve 0 #26 June 24, 2003 I agree! We just picked up the book last night for my soon-to-be stepson. The deal is that I can't read it until he does and he doesn't get back from camp until Sunday. So, hush....
LadySkyDIve 0 #27 June 24, 2003 I heard on the news that with the Harry Potter series, she went from being a single mom on welfare to the richest person in England, even over the Queen! I wish I had talent.

I wish I had talent This is true, hence my sarcastic comment in my post above. However the truth is, her annual income is much higher than the Queen's. The Queen owns considerably more in assets, but one could argue that those assets belong to the Monarchy and not the Queen herself. AggieDave 6 #30 June 24, 2003 Well, I'll be done in a couple of hours, Amanda has claimed it next, you can have it after her, but I don't know how fast she'll read it (I'll have it done in under 24hrs). Maybe you can talk her into letting you have it after me, if you promise to have it to her before the weekend.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." FliegendeWolf 0 #31 July 3, 2003 OK, I finished it last night. These books get darker and darker. One thing I couldn't help but notice was the theme of totalitarian control over Hogwarts and The Daily Prophet by the Ministry of Magic. The censorship and lack of accountability of the leadership certainly resonated with me given the current American political climate.A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
kallend 2,146 #32 July 6, 2003 I have raised four sons into their twenties. JKR certainly has figured out teenage boys - grouchy and bad judgement in equal measures. The books are very well written.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
