QuoteI had thought about letting it go and not saying anything. But,I've been through alot of this before.
I understand what you say dude, at my EX job, there ARE a lot of 'illegalities' but I think is kinda late now, besides, you don't work there anymore, and in the remote event that they listened to you and they Gov. fix things, what benefit will you be getting? you are NOT there anymore, so, why fight a war in which you are not part of?
Believe me, I know what you're feeling, but, is not your problem anymore.

QuoteI'm actually relieved that I no longer work there. The stress was getting to me enough that I could'nt sleep the night before I had to go in. And I no longer have to get up at 0430
Another thing in common, I used to get up by 4am (leave the house by 5am) and punch in by 8am, 3 hours commuting each way gets to you after a while, relax man.
I did a lot of bitching on the Venting Thread, feel free to use it.

The one benefit I would get would be a fat check from back pay.I've seen city and county gov'ts have to pay major dough for illegal pay issues. And everybody that works there now and had worked there in the past 5 yrs would get back pay also.I had a friend of mine back east that got a check for about 10k that he was owed from city fire.So I know it works. It takes time to get through the red tape but the employees get thier hard earned money in the end.

If you think it will work, and you get the support of your peers, dude, I wish you the BEST, and I really mean that.

When in doubt.........fuck em up!!!!!
seriously.....good luck becoming employed again.......I am about to (I think) be joining the ranks of the unenjoyed.
The only saving grace in my situation is that I can throw students out, and video tandems/aff to pay for my jumps....
good luck;

I'm still fairly new at my current job. I was out of work for just over a month between my last job and this one. I had applied for 35 jobs before nailing the one I have now. I only was asked to 2 interviews out of the 35 positions I applied for.And I have significant experience aswell!!
Just goes to show that there was a extensive number of people looking for work at that time I guess

I absolutely hate my new job. But I am sticking with it for some mad reason. Guess I am hoping that they'll offer me a permanent position some time soon.
Try to stay in a positive frame of mind while hunting for work. I really hope that you score the job at the prison. Good luck!

Don't bother me, I'm living happily ever after

QuoteTh9ink I'm going to respond to this by getting shitfaced tonight and then in the morning calling the labor board for illegal pay structure and the call OSHA and report several major violations being made by the company and the calling the fire inspector and haveing them check out the illegal conditions of the stations that they have.
DO IT. THEY F*'D YOU - SERVES THEM RIGHT.

Welcome to the ranks. Never thought I'd hear of an EMT getting laid off...

You will find out, that the more anger you vent towards these issues, the un-happier you will be. Take that energy and apply it towards finding a better job. Don't let the bad karma kick you in the ass.
