dish network or directtv?

Recommended Posts

Thinking of getting digital TV here. Don't like the cable company in my area.

Anyone have opinions on either company? Is there one to stay away from?

Direct TV is the way to go. Had Direct TV at home and Dish at work. Direct TV stayed on longer during storms than dish and their customer service was much better. Also, better programming for the sports packages, etc.
but that's just my 2 cents.

Have had Dish in the past, and after our move today, am switching from digital cable back to Dish. The parental unit have dtv, and they haven't complained much, but that's about all I know of dtv.

I've got DISH. No complaints.

Kinda depends on what programming you want.
DISH has a bit more HD content, but DirecTV is catching up quick. With DirecTV you can get 3rd party decoders (SONY) with dish you are stuck with Echostar stuff.

If you want HDTV and can afford the $$$ go DISH.
Otherwise, go with the best deal.
illegible usually

DirectTV rocks, especially if you want fox sports regional networks. Pricing ain't bad. I pay about $50/month for an awful lot of channels plus 7 HBO channels and the LA and NYC affiliates of all the major networks. So I can watch a 10:00 show at 7:00 (on the NYC station) then 8:00 and 9:00 shows on the LA station and be in bed by 10:00.

I have played with both. I prefer dish network. It depends on what you are looking for. DTV has PPV before dish wich is nice but Dish has nicer reciversfor a better price. DTV is easear to hack but goes down alot more frequent than dish. just be sure you know the contract you are signing. if it says you will pay for 2 years. You will pay for 2 years no matter who you go with. Just my $0.02

Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. But if you go be sure you can make it back.

I just thought I would port this for all the dish users.
