Regarding Royal Doultons and other figurines

Recommended Posts

So earlier this month I bought one for my mother on ebay for Christmas. I know it's early but it was a good deal.

It came the other day and upon closer inspection it seems that it has lived the beginning of its life in a smokers house.

So I want to clean it up and make it all pretty before dec.

Can I just use soap and water, or will this some way damage the paint on it? Any help would be appreciated.:)
edit: bad spelling

Well, I know from my Tupperware selling days that to get odor out of Tupperware all you would do is seal it up with newspaper inside. I suppose you could stick the figurine in an airtight container with newspaper and try that. Charcoal also helps to remove odors, like in a room after painting. So, you could put it in a container with charcoal also. That way, you wouldn't actually have to do anything to the figurine.

(And because you helped me I will refrain from further commenting on your "tupperware selling days")

Haha! Well, I made a lot of money and earned the use of a new van, so I'm not embarrassed. Plus, if you come to my house, all of my food is incredibly fresh!
