dzdiva 7 #1 July 12, 2003 I work at a cancer center and today I received a letter from the widow of one of my patients. Vernon passed away about one month ago. I so enjoyed talking to him when he came for his treatments. He was a paratrooper in WWII and when he found out I was a skydiver our bond became even stronger. He used to share his stories of jumping. I told him that I had it easy compared to his jumping days. At least I'm not a target for gunfire, not to mention having a sweet canopy over my head instead of one of those rounds that can make you a lawndart!! The respect I have for that man is immense! Anyway, his wife sent a letter thanking me for taking such good care of her husband. She said he really enjoyed our chats about planes and skydiving. Just before he passed away I gave him a picture I took of someone under canopy. She said he kept it on the tv.Sorry for the long post....I just wanted to share. Blue Skies Vernon!Laurie

hooked 0 #4 July 12, 2003 It must be very rewarding to know you had touched someone's heart and made his last days more pleasant, at least in thoughts. Cancer is never easy, so if you brought to him some good memories or thoughts, you are special.Jan -------------------------------------- Sometimes we're just being Humans.....But we're always Human Beings.
