happythoughts 0 #1 July 13, 2003 Have you seen the new fire prevention ads? A guy is camping, hears a noise, the camera closes in on an eye dilating in anger... Whew! Scary stuff. The guy leaves the campfire smoldering and the Bear comes out and glares in an intimidating fashion. Smokey used to be a little calmer in the past. When I was a kid, he did the "Only YOU can prevent forest fires..." gig. It was tough on me because every time that I heard about a fire on the news, I felt so responsible. I'd let the bear down somehow. I felt guilty but unafraid. My therapy helped me with the guilt, but I don't know what to do about the new image. I was up all night patroling the "forrest" behind my house... I did a good job.
