AggieDave 6 #1 July 16, 2003 Just finished writing the first draft of a new song I thought I'd share. Remember, this is the first working draft...(this feels good, I wrote 2 songs today, after being on a severe writting block for about 2 months). Its slow song, so bare with me. It also has a very simple chord progression that only involves 3 chords (C, G, Em...yeah, odd group, but the Em is used once per verse and it sounds really cool). Lonely Moon where have your friends gone? lonely moon the were once abundant lonely moon at one time they were there twinkling with your shine beside you every night so you wouldn't be alone so you could find your way home lonely moon travel'n that darkened road lonely moon wondering where to go lonely moon you once had a dream but dreamer's dreams are liars and laughter from failings past are chasing after you down your deserted path lonely moon come back to forgiving arms lonely moon you don't have to run so far lonely moon don't make your life so damned hard 'cause rain will keep falling on your dusty old road the tears will continue to fall until you've come back home--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." AggieDave 6 #3 July 16, 2003 Well, shit, here's the other one I wrote today, but if you're not an Aggie, you won't get it. This song is fast. I remember a time Not too long gone that Aggies actually cared About the tradiitons of long ago Silver Taps was revered the grass was walked around and people said Howdy! aggiels loved this town Now Bonfire doesnt' burn people wear hats in the MSC no one goes to Muster or yell practice Friday eve the spirit was strong the Corps was all male now Old Ags what can we say but... Old Army's gone to hell! At football games people stood and the Aggies never boo'd when the War Hymn played hats came off and people stepped off the wood Now campus is divided The admin doesn't care they're turning us into t.u. and I tell ya it just aint fair! many years ago when Aggies were hard traditions had respect our school the best by far the spirit was strong the Corps was all male now Old Ags what can we say but... Old Army's gone to hell!--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
