Cornholio 0 #1 July 17, 2003 I have been trying for the past 20 minutes to dial out to Australia to reach a friend. However, I can't seem to get the sequence down. this is what I am doing... 011-03-12345678 (no, you can't see the number, but it is valid. ) Anyone ?? My work is worldwide so I don't see a problem here. In fact after dialing the number it just sits there like it's waiting for more numbers. My cell phone gives me an error about international numbers... anyone ?? Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! CrazyIvan 0 #4 July 17, 2003 QuoteMy cell phone gives me an error about international numbers... Only to Australia?, if that's the case, buy a calling card, I use my cell and a calling card to call europe sometimes, never a problem. I've never called Australia but I've never had a problem with my cell and international calls__________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you. My friend just e-mailed me and told me that, but I'm still not getting through on work. I called up Verizon and they said that the international number was blocked, so I will try again in a few min. thanks. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Muenkel 0 #8 July 17, 2003 You also have to begin with our country code which is 01, then Australia's country code, city code and then number. Hope it works. Chris _________________________________________ Chris
BlueEyedMonster 0 #9 July 17, 2003 QuoteYou also have to begin with our country code which is 01, then Australia's country code, city code and then number. Since when? I dial Australia quite often... I start out with an 011 which is international access, then 61 which is the country code, then 3 which is for Victoria, then the number I am dialing in Melbourne. You don't need to add the extra 01 anywhere. That is if you are dialing into the US
juanesky 0 #10 July 17, 2003 Blue and Mikkey were the ones correct. If you are calling any country, never include the zeroes in front of the codes, iE Venezuela, 59 not 059, Caracas (used to be 02 but when dialed it was 2)."According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
Muenkel 0 #11 July 17, 2003 I've always started with the 01, but then again it may be where you are calling from. Like some areas dialing domestically you have to start with a one. Where I am, I have to dial 01 when dialing internationally. Chris _________________________________________ Chris
BlueEyedMonster 0 #12 July 17, 2003 011 is a standard throughout the country. Are you sure you weren't dialling 011?
Muenkel 0 #13 July 17, 2003 You know what, you're right. I do dial 011. I stand corrected. Chris _________________________________________ Chris
