dropdeded 0 #1 July 18, 2003 Been searching for a post I made months ago but cant find it, so..... Some punkass kids were tagging buildings and fences in an alley behind my Moms house. It went on for a month or so and then one morning Mom calls and tells me they spray painted some gang crap on the hood of my pickup truck. Its an 89 Chevy, its in good condition, but its been sittin since 99 (tags). Now this aint no fancy ass truck but damnit its mine, I was PISSED ! Called the cops and all. Couple days later, Mom calls again and they slashed 3 tires on my sisters car, a bunch more up and down the alley, AND THE FRONT TIRES ON MY TRUCK .Called the cops again. They caught em a couple days later Today I got a letter from the Kern County Probation Dept. The little fuckers got to pay restitution. Now I have to find out about how much. Can I go price new tires ? Have someone give me an estimate on a paintjob ? The truck is still sitting, under a tarp. What are my options ???????? Sorry for the novel, but I really did do a search. dropdeded------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -

dropdeded 0 #3 July 18, 2003 After the restitution - find the little bastards and fuck them up dude. __________________________________________________ Nah, that was my goal at the time, I even did the "neighborhood watch" with my 12 gauge a couple nights. Im past the anger shit, I just want them, or probably Mom and Dad, to cough up some dough. Matter of fact, that would be unexpected money, and we all know what THAT kind of money is for dropdeded------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -

nubain1 0 #7 July 18, 2003 Get a price on the new tires and then get 3 estimates for the paint job.I don't know if they'll have to pay you or the ins company for it.But if it goes to the ins company they typically want at least 3 estimates first.Oops said the "F" word. Then after everyting is taken care of just sit back and watch karmic debt in action. flyangel2 2 #12 July 18, 2003 QuoteIn that case if the culprits are minors then the parents are responsible.Give them the estimates and get a cashiers check or money or for the payment. Sorry, not true. Now a days more and more courts are ordering the minor child to make payments either to the courts or to the victim of the crime. IMO, just because the kids are doing things that are unlawful and damage personal property, doesn't mean that the parents are bad and should have to foot the bill. It may take you months and months to get paid in full. It all depends on the decision of the courts, especially if this is a first time offence for the kids.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. JeffD 0 #16 July 18, 2003 Well I would go to the DEALER of your car and find estimates because they are higher. So if its a chevy go to a chevy dealer and get all your estimates. and they want three so go to the chevy dealer close to you, the chevy dealer 10miles north of you and the chevy dealer 20miles east of you. Dealers always charge top $$ for repair.
