bluefingers 0 #1 July 16, 2003 Hi all Just been reading through this thread http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=265069;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25; As far as I know, our club, Pietermaritzburg Parachute Club, is the oldest, or the second oldest continually running DZ in the world, operating out of the same location. We were established in 1953. Any clubs on a par, or older than that? Just curious, and also doing a bit of research for our club newsletter. bluefingers 0 #5 July 18, 2003 *bump* Anyone a member of a dz that is older, or the same age? (continually running, in the same location). Thanks! We are planning a huge boogie over Easter next year to celebrate, but I'd like to be sure of my facts before I broadcast it everywhere. Kerry
SkyDekker 1,465 #6 July 18, 2003 The dropzone I jump at, Skydive Burnaby, has had parachute activity on the dropzone since 1948 according to my best knowledge. Edited to add: under different ownership though.
