AggieDave 6 #1 July 21, 2003 Yup, I finally did it, I'm PUMPED about this. Went out on a modified tracking dive, 3 of us wanted to go out, start speeding up then end the tracking dive with the hardest/fastest track we could punch out. We all wore our RW suits. I averaged 95mph overall, on the high end I averaged 106, on the low end I averaged 82mph!!!! This motivated me and damn near made my entire weekend! I just had to share.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
sinker 0 #2 July 21, 2003 given your size, that seems slow... forgive me for being dense, but is that what you were shooting for? -the artist formerly known as sinker
AggieDave 6 #3 July 21, 2003 I was trying to do the slowest fall rate/fastest forward speed I could do. I'm not sure how fast forward I was truely doing, but I did drop Perky77 in the dust. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Considering the size dif. between you two, that is outstanding Dave. Now learn to back track so you can lead some tracking dives Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you. AggieDave 6 #11 July 21, 2003 QuoteNow learn to back track so you can lead some tracking dives You're talk'n crazy talk now! I *can* back track, its just that the glide slope of my back track is, well...lets just say VERY steep.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." As it stands right now, if i try to back track, others can stay right with me in a sit with only slight forward motion Oh well, its nothing that 1000 jumps won't cure right?? sinker 0 #15 July 21, 2003 so how do I slow my track down? I have a very healthy fall rate and it just speeds up in a track. I've been trying to roll my shoulders, cup a little at the hip and keep my arms parallel to my body, and I *think* that helps, but I wasn't w/ anyone at the time... any other advice? -the artist formerly known as sinker

eeneR 3 #18 July 21, 2003 Ya also have to watch your angle... If your head is pointed down...thats where your gonna go... you wanna go _ and not \ . rocketfeuille 0 #19 July 21, 2003 Are those readings TAS or SAS?
AggieDave 6 #20 July 21, 2003 Those are TAS. I switched the protrack to SAS (it'll convert you last jump automatically for ya) and it was a few MPH slower, but I keep it on TAS so its an equal comparison to other jumpers at other DZs.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." kansasskydiver 0 #21 July 21, 2003 i had a sub 100 doing a 4 way once. i was as big as i freaking could be. we have a student who falls sub 100 with lead on, he just doesn't fall!!! gravity doesn't work for him or something. if you guys know me, i'm 250 out the door, pretty big so it was amazing. i haven't hit 85 in a track yet, but haven't done too many tracking dives either. i hit 200 plus in a hd if that counts chris<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!
