Blahr 0 #1 July 24, 2003 Whats the best way to sell used gear to a total stranger on line where you can include a gear inspection and insure that both parties are protected from a rip-off?
kevin922 0 #2 July 24, 2003 I think this has been discussed before.. the safest way is to do an escrow account but that will cost some $$ to do. Also sending the rig to a 3rd party rigger adds some "security" though not much. If you do some searching i think there are other topics on this.. bwilling 0 #3 July 24, 2003 Whatever you do, if you decide to send COD (which really only protects the seller), do not use UPS... use Fedex. Trust me. or PM me for details of why! sfc 1 #4 July 24, 2003 I sold my canopy to a stranger, the gear store at her DZ acted as a middle man for us, they did a gear inspection for a small fee, and held onto it until I got the money and said it was ok to release it.

I did this as well when I purchased my used rig off of DZ.com. They just sent it to my DZ rigger...they inspected it....and the rest is history!
