TheRus 0 #6 July 26, 2003 Sorry about the size thing. The guy who hosts the site for us took the pics and I didn't think to mention it... The truck (my roomate's) was fully insured but the car (mine) was not - liability only. Had the tree fallen 90 degrees to the east, it would have been right down the middle of the house and on top of my roomate's room. My room is on the far end so I would probably have made it out ok. Still glad it missed us! As I think you can see in one of the pictures, the base of the tree is only like 3 feet from our back steps. Worst part? I was awake when this happened! Not a noise you want to hear at 5 AM! Yeah, it's fine, we'll walk down the line. TheRus 0 #9 July 26, 2003 Last week we had a storm. It blew over a large red oak tree that had been weakened (unknown to us) by a beetle infestation. The tree came down on top of our only 2 vehicles out here (which were parked about 30 feet from each other). Totalled both but only one had full insurance. My buddy replaced his ride today though so at least one of us can go get some groceries now! The pictures are from the same morning (after the storm) of the truck and car with the tree on them. I saw prints of the pictures but just copy/pasted the urls into the message and didn't know he had them so big on the net. Sorry about that again... Many appologies to the dial-up crowd!
