If you lay off of weight lifting for a few months (nearly a year), and you start back up, do NOT think you can do the same weights. Further more, do NOT think you can still squat or deadlift even 2/3s of your old weight. If you do, you will hurt. B|

So here I sit, going "you're a dumbass" after getting back from the gym. Atleast its a you tried to hard feeling and not a you hurt something feeling. I know what they both feel like, and I know all I need is to relax for the rest of the day and I'll be nearly 100% tomorrow.

Any volunteers wanna come over and rub my sore back for me? (by volunteers I mean one or more of our great skychicks B|;)).

At least you're not hurting due to physical strain...like me.
About 2 weeks ago, I was curling - hammer curls, and a acouple days later my arms still hurt. A week later it still hurt, so I went to the doc - he diagnosed me with Tennis Elbow or tendonitis..

so yeah, I'm a moron too for lifting too much weight and not having good form. It's just now starting to feel better where I can leave the brace off and not have it ache all the time. A few more weeks and I should be back to normal.

I did that a couple years ago, but I was using good form and normal waits for preacher curls. What got me was I was playing handball 3 or 4 days a week and I played one afternoon after a hard arm workout. That strained the tenden in my right arm pretty bad. Same thing, don't use it, wear this brace, you'll be ok in a week.

Keep your back straight. I used to walk lopsided after being on the curl machine because of bad posture, that can fuck you up real quick.

ok dave I hafta agree with ya!;)

eat banana's and strecth out slowly.
obviously you know that the Muscle fibers are torn and strecthing wont FIX it but it will stop you from cramping up! the bananas help the fluids and muscles do what they are supposed to. (when I go into my running phase I eat banans it helps with your joints and IMO it helps with shin splints)


of course STRETCHING and MODERATION will act as that pound or prevention:D

BTW- hope you feel better for your tandem...moron:P

Update.

Went to a "friend's" place. She was kind enough to rub my back, rub icy hot on the strained back muscles...and generally, um...take care of me.

Needless to say, I'm feeling mucho better. Not 100% yet, but I bet I'll be able to jump my tandems tomorrow.
