Computers and machines can never do anything they have not been programmed to do.

I know it's been replied to already, but some of the code that I am working on (right now in fact) is supposed to do just that - be able to change the way it works based on what the other software around it is doing. Yes it is programmed to do this, but the idea is for it to be able to "think" on its own.
There is also buggy code - most of the time when software crashes, it wasn't actually programmed to do that... :D

The code you are working on still follows specific commands you are giving it,right? Has it ever done anything you haven't programmed it to do? For a computer to be "artificially intelligent" it would need to be able to do things that no human told it to do.

Hey, I am no techno geek, I just go to movies for escapism as well. I was just pointing out one of the more glaring plot holes from both t2 an 3... Supposedly (from the first movie), only machines with some living skin and stuff (like Arnie) can go back through time....

Yes, at that time, but remember, the new tx is sent back from even farther in the future and is more advanced. Besides, the t-1000 had no living tissue, either.

Finally went to see T-3 yesterday, and it was awesome! I loved the first two movies (especially T-2), and I wasn't sure if they could pull off a third one - but I think they did a pretty damn good job of it! The story was excellent...

My only complaint was that John Connor looked almost nothing like he did in T-2. The actor did a good job, but couldn't they find someone that looked more like the original actor??? Hell, it's been so long since T-2 that the original actor would have been about the right age now to play the part - I wonder why they didn't just use him?

I missed Linda Hamilton too, but her character didn't fit in with the story this time anyway...

Anyhow, I thought it was a great movie... And they left it wide open for a T-4! Now I will definitely vote for Arnie as new governor of CA! (just kidding ;)

I thought it was pretty kickass, better then T-1 & 2, T-2 I didnt like that much, liquid metal thing was just too far fetched. They should just stick to the conventional robots otherwise it has the effect of turning a sci-fi movie into what ought to be more of a cartoon. But thats just my view.

... but not a steering wheel on a crown victoria, it's mechanical. Now, if they were in the experimental GM lab, and it was a concept car that had electronic steering, well that'd be different.

Ok So you have to use your imagination a bit. Oh well.
:P

And therein lies the problem :S;)

its not imagination you need, its the ability to turn off any shred of logical thought

Yes you're right... and this just happens to be my specialty (with a little help from the right substances of course)! :S:D:D:D

Logic is for mathematicians! Terminator movies are for ditzy blondes, like myself... (Life is so much fun without a brain!) :P

Because the original actor (edward furlong) is a drug-addict, like many other kid stars who where taken off the street, made famous, after which they found out they couldn't handle the pressure...sad..but true...

Saw t3 last night. It was okay-isch...
