Push 0 #3 July 29, 2003 Oh now that looks like fun. Any idea how long the runway distance is for that kind of performance? -- Toggle Whippin' Yahoo Skydiving is easy. All you have to do is relax while plummetting at 120 mph from 10,000' with nothing but some nylon and webbing to save you.
sinker 0 #4 July 29, 2003 um, I don't remember... but it isn't that long w/ those two afterburning turbojets... I wanna say less than 2k, but not sure... any AF dudes know? Wingnut? -the artist formerly known as sinker
Gawain 0 #5 July 29, 2003 9.5 seconds...wow... IIRC, the F15 can fly straight up at MACH 1. I'd love to see comparison data of it versus the F22. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! wingnut 0 #6 July 29, 2003 well i have no iea about the f-15, even though i did see some parked across from my jet today at work. the f-16 though is a difrent story. lets say a 20k lbs something airframe and a 30k lbs thrust means some serious ass hauling..... when i got my insentive ride we were doing close to 500knts at 1000ft agl and then did a 6g 90 deg verticle climb to about 10k in about 10 seconds or less..... way cool!!!!!!! one of the things that they do sometimes is called a "max climb" they will take off, normaly in afterburner and lift off the runway about 100 ft but not climb anymore, then they continue untl they get near the end of the runway (ours here in utah is 12,000+ ft.) and pull up 90 deg and just rocket upwards.. before ya know it they are just a little spec..... ______________________________________ "i have no reader's digest version"
