bodypilot90 0 #1 November 16, 2011 jumped a 0P pilot and last weekend a pulse. I believe the Pilot is a bit more sporty in turns. Both had nice openings, The pulse popped me up a bit on flare. Does the ZPX fly the same as a 0P canopy. which pack smaller and which packs easier, The zpx ot the pulse?
LDiCosimo 0 #2 November 17, 2011 I just bought a pilot standard ZP. After readting through a lot of threads about them I understand ZPX to be for pack volume only. But here's their official report on it http://flyaerodyne.com/zpx.asp Someone correct me if I'm wrong. PD's website hase a pulse 170 packing in between an all ZP 150 and 135. Aerodyne lists a 17% pack volume reduction so it's about the same as a pulse when comparing a pilot 168 to a pulse 170.
bodypilot90 0 #3 November 17, 2011 I was supprised at how ez the pluse was to pack. It didn;t snivel like my spectre yet had a soft opening. Over Christmas pd is coming to Skydive Sebastian and I hope to get a few more jumps on a pulse and the optima as well, emailed aerodyne about a zpx demo. I'll let you know. ....... But wanted some real world experiance on which packed smaller and if the zpx packed as nicely as a pulse. I also read this Quote In practical world ZPX canopies pack 2 sizes smaller than regular ZP canopies. Pilot 188 ZPX packs like Pilot 140 ZP. Fpr those who use our Icon rigs, Pilot 210 ZPX will comfortably fit in I5, 188 ZPX in I4, 168ZPX and 150 ZPX in I3, 132-117 ZPX in I2 and so on. On container subject, if you are having hard time with other manufacturers and their sizing just order a stock Icon with custom, built to your size, harness from Aerodyne. It comes fully loaded with options. That means n extra money for spacer foam, stainless....you get the picture. Did I mention that if you order it on Monday you can have it ready for the weekend? That is faster than 182 climb to the altitude :) by verticalflier

Bip 0 #5 November 17, 2011 I jump a Pulse 170 and occasionally a Pilot 168 zpx. I find the Pulse easier to pack.

catfishhunter 2 #7 November 22, 2011 I jump pilot 188's loaded at 1.43. I bought a ZPX 188 and did not like it. gave it back for for a ZP. The ZPX felt mushy to me. Could have just been in my head but I didn't like the way it turned compared to my other one. I love my pilots I just ordered another one but I decided to go up to a 210 as I will be a "demo" rig and I ordered the standard zp MAKE EVERY DAY COUNT Life is Short and we never know how long we are going to have. Divinfool 0 #9 November 25, 2011 They claim the ZPX packs 15% smaller....I'm testing a Pilot 168 this weekend and will see.Fear is the thief of dreams.....
catfishhunter 2 #10 November 25, 2011 You'd have to ask my packer I don't pack, bad knees, neck and back. I get 1 knee scoped Tuesday and the other one next year :( paying $8 extra a jump and being able to jump all day is a very small price to pay for me :) MAKE EVERY DAY COUNT Life is Short and we never know how long we are going to have.
