Well, that's just Fu*#!ng great

Recommended Posts

I'm sitting here, a half destroyed case of Newcastle Brown Ale sitting in front of me.

Feeling pretty good, I guess. Drowning out the sorrows.

Ya think I was broke before? Ya think I was hurting when I decided to stoop to packing for jump tickets?

Try being informed not to come back after vacation, since there will be no truck to drive. No vacation check either. I have roughly 50 hours of pay coming, and that's it.

Life is decidedly NOT good right now.

I just spent $200 on a hitch and crap for the car. I spent another $35 on a sign in board and markers and crap.

That fucker couldn't have told me this 2 weeks ago, huh? No, then I would have another $250 or so in the bank to fall back on. What a fuckin AssHAT.

Needless to say, everyone have a blast at Rantoul. I'll be up here making a few calls, and probably be heading back over the road.

Ivan, what was that? U.S.A. ???

That sucks!

Feel free to call to companies around Texas, its great down here! If you want, I can get you in touch with a skydiver friend of mine that's a trucker out of Granbury.

Thanks Dave. I'm seriously considering going back to work for Waggoners though. At least I'll be back on the drop zone tour.

Yup, don't feel bad bro, I got laid off 1.5 months ago, so tight budget and guess what, I had to pay my car insurance (begining of July) $1000+ and 2 weeks ago the balance for my rig (which I ordered close to 3 months ago) $2,500, so....how are you feeling now?

Welcome to the U.S.A (Unemployed Skydivers of America) I hope your stay (and mine) is a short one.

I'm in the same boat - pruchased a brand new car, and was laid off three weeks later!

That was march, this is now and I still have no job. Ah, the joys of being in IT.

Try this:

Just bought a house a few weeks ago. Construction loan was included.

Spent $9,800 last night at Menards on special orders and materials, about 6 p.m.

Got the call about 7 or 8 p.m.

Thank God the house payment is less than $350 a month and the wife is still working. I actually can hang out for a month or so working on the house before I'll need to go back to work. I'll need to grab some cash jobs though, just to be able to jump in that time frame.

Dude-
you could move to Iowa and take my job as loan processor. My boss wants to either fire me or lay me off (probably fire me because then she won't have to pay me severence). But then YOU will be the only guy in the office and YOU will become the estrogen release punching bag.

What do ya think? Yeah, you are right, unemployment sounds better.;)

Wouldn't work for me. When it comes to the job marketplace, i tend to speak my mind, usually with a tape recorder. Yea, one former employer got some serious fines from OSHA.

I started recording awhile ago since a person I worked with had a history of sexual harrasment claims. Whenever she came up, I'd be recording. She tried to get me too. Too bad the tape showed her starting the sexual comments.

that tape was used to overturn 4 previous harrasment convictions.

I don't put up with shit in the workplace. That's probably why I drive for a living now. :S

Then I need your advise because I am wading in $hit neck deep.

In fact, this past weekend I was covering for a coworker that was on vacation. She came back, complained to my boss that I didn't do a good enough job in her absence, the boss said that it was the last straw, called in the loan originator and had a discussion. The loan originator went to bat for me and proved that I did an incredible job, and the boss lady said that if the loan originator didn't vouch for me, it would have been my head.

I think I need to start recording. But how to hide the recorder and get a good, clean recording?

Any tips?

Here's what I used. Get an external mic too. Hide it in your desk. Adjust for normal human voices (so typing and crap doesn't start the recorder.)
Radio Shack
Most of these recordings cannot be used in court. Don't know why, just heard they can't. They can be used as an out of court deterrant though.

"You're fired."
"Why?"
"Because I want to hire an intern at a cheaper hourly rate, and she's female."
"Wow, thanks for that comment. I have this tape here.....Now, about that raise...."

I am very sorry to hear about your situation. Indeed I am familiar with the periodic downside of life.

Some say, the bad makes the good look a lot better. (?) Helloooo, What ever happened to VIDEO???

;)About this back on the drop zone tour thing, if you make it past Peanut in one piece, come on down yankee. You are always welcome. :P

I'm proud to be Peanut's first student signed off student status and first signed "A" card.

Come to think of it, is there a second yet? B|

The one time I made it to spaceland you weren't there. One of these times..... Thanks Ann.

There is a question if I would have been there if I had been there. However, was I supposed to be there? Dang, I am sorry I wasnt there to be not there.

:S

No fair Ann! I'm blond too, and now I'm confused.....

Anyway, I'll look forward to seeing you at a Houston area DZ in the future.
