AggieDave 6 #5 July 31, 2003 Well, this part of Texas has 3 seasons...Jan. Feb. and Summer.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
AggieDave 6 #6 July 31, 2003 Yeah, PilotMike (SD Aggieland's primary pilot) moved here from Kansas, having never been to Texas before. Back in March he was bitching about the heat...we told him to just wait, it gets "better". I think if he knew how much the heat sucks, he may not have moved down here. Well, its not really the heat that kills you, its the humidity!--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
Deuce 1 #7 July 31, 2003 It's still the heat Dave. The humidity just speeds things up. It's one thing to be in a 130 degree sauna. It's a whole nother thing to be in a 130 degree tub of water. Good luck!
AggieDave 6 #8 July 31, 2003 Well, I just think of Eloy, May a year ago when I was there, the temp was getting up to 100+ and it felt ok. Not very hot at all... Mmmmm...a sauna...that sounds so good for some reason.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
kansasskydiver 0 #9 July 31, 2003 kansas isn't any better aggie, sunday's lately seem to be the worse days. no wind, hot and humid!<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!

AggieDave 6 #12 July 31, 2003 hehehe...Yup, I know. I grew up in Sherman, but atleast we had Lake Texoma about 20 minutes away to go cool off in. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
Stacy 0 #13 July 31, 2003 humidity really does suck. our actual temps aren't toooo bad (low 90s) but taht humidity pops us up into the 100s every day, 80-75% H factor. ugh. walk outside and it feels like walking into a wall. Not even worth fixing my hair for work. __
Deuce 1 #14 July 31, 2003 You grew up in a Sherman tank?! That explains a lot!
katiebear21 0 #15 July 31, 2003 1203 AM here... still 96 degrees but only 16% humidity. With the 15mph winds it feels like somebody's holding a blowdryer right in front of your face when you walk! Makes for lots of dry noses! I will welcome that Georgia humidity during my little visit back to the states next week! AggieDave 6 #16 July 31, 2003 Yup. Actually, 3 different Sherman tanks... Hey, do you remember that movie from the '80s about an Army officer that had a Sherman tank that he restored, then him and his son some how became fugitives, so they "ran" from the law in their tank. I can't remember the name of the movie, though.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

I've never been brave enough to swim in Texoma...I don't even swim in Lewisville or Travis down in Austin. AggieDave 6 #19 July 31, 2003 Texoma is a nice lake actually. Just don't swim near the dam, I've heard all sorts of stories about Catfish that get as big as small cars down near the intakes...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." wlie 0 #24 July 31, 2003 Speaking of heat. It supposedly reached 98 yesterday when I jumped. Crossing around 7000 ft, I started feeling the heat as if on my way to hell. There's only so much air I could cup, and this kid ain't no floaty. My other ride is the relative wind.
