I was watching real TV last night and it had a clip of an African American with a British accent doing his AFF 1 Jump in I believe Sebastian,FL a couple years ago. Anyway beside the normal wuffo talk from the announcer the jumper cutaway his perfectly good main at around 100' above the tree line. It appears the RSL pulled his reserve and he hit the trees at line strecth. He only suffered scratches and bruises. Does anyone know why he cutaway? bodypilot90 0 #2 August 3, 2003 yes we were talking about that idiot last week. he never turned his canopy, basicly froze up under canopy. His instructors were yelling at him on the radio and up to him as he flew right over them. As was nearing the trees he remembered "oh this is a emergency I better do my emergency procedures and cutaway and the rsl and a tree saved his life. Dead man walking his was. main and freebag was less than 20 feet away. I had about 30 jumps as the time. one of the guys I jumped with had a copy of the video and watched it trying to figure out how he was abble to walk away. Guess not everyone can be a skydiver.
