airann 1 #7 August 4, 2003 Thank God this person is ok. His lozer 'friend' should have NOT fled. IMO At least I would never leave a friend of mine. Jail, fine or not. I cherish the few I have. Even if they are imperfect like me. However, I needed some information similar to this as I have a close friend that I dont want to BASE jump anymore. Absolutley for my own peace of mind. (selfish) I say very little but go freakin nuts in my head about it, and I can not sleep till he gets back home. I am Ok about bridge day, but the wires on a tower -Nope. Also you might get nailed with charges of criminal trespass and reckless entanglement. (Last time he got chased by a Mad Cow) ~AirAnn~

People like him that screw it up for others. i think you're talking out of your ass here, were you there? Do you know what happened? My guess is no, off heading openings happen - just like line twists happen on a normal skydive, you do things to prevent them but even if you do everything right something can go wrong. I'm glad no one got hurt, but calling him a dumbass without knowing anything really makes yourself look like a dumbass. But i don't know you so i'm not going to call you one. mountainman 0 #10 August 4, 2003 The Shoreline Fire Department responded, and Lieutenant Michael Ryan climbed the tower, slid down the wire and lowered the man to the ground. Wow... hats off to Mr. Ryan for that. As for the guy who got snagged... it happens.http://www.brandonandlaura.com
kevin922 0 #11 August 4, 2003 QuoteAs for the guy who got snagged, too bad he didn't case it better before hand. It happens. Am I missing something here?? You're the second person to make a comment like this -- keep in mind there were 3 jumpers, the other 2 made it down just fine so what does "caseing" it out have to do with anything in this scenerio? You can case everything out you want to - it could be a 1000 foot tower and you could still have issues. Maybe i'm missing something

I'm sorry I didn't see the video of his jump, could you point me to that? If you're talking about the newscast it shows him hanging from a antenna wire which says nothing about the risk involved with the jump he made.. guess the people who die base jumping were all dumbasses too. i'm done with this crap.. later. Zenister 0 #16 August 4, 2003 Quote His lozer 'friend' should have NOT fled. IMO At least I would never leave a friend of mine. Jail, fine or not. there is a different code for BASE jumpers, even in fatalities. everyone involved should know what the plan is and sticks too it...its a different mindset than most 'normal' people have..____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
