AggieDave 6 #1 August 5, 2003 Pablito got some cool stills on a jump about a month ago. He's starting to get good at grabbing some noice shots. Although my scan quality isn't that great, so you're not seeing the richness of the color and such. I just had to share. AND prove that I really am doing tandems...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
lazerq3 0 #2 August 5, 2003 QuoteI just had to share. AND prove that I really am doing tandems.. Yeah ..sure you are.. I've seen your Photo Shop work... thats a pretty good job putting your head on the real tandem masters head!!! (j/k) NICE PICS!! AND CONGRATS... I think this isthe first time I heard you were a TM... What can I say I've been slacking online!! jasonFreedom of speech includes volume

sinker 0 #4 August 5, 2003 nice pics man, you look great! but where is that pretty jump suit??? -the artist formerly known as sinker
AggieDave 6 #5 August 5, 2003 After ripping a nice hole in the butt of my FF suit sliding in a tandem, I decided to order some baggy motocross pants. Thus, the pants I'm wearing in those pics. If you look on the leg, you'll see the big "shift" logo/name, which is the kind of pants they are. If you know a little about motocross/moto-X/etc you'll recognize the name. Viking: Yeah, I know, smile! I usually do, I'm not sure why I'm not in those pics. But I love doing tandems, jumping with students makes me happy, so its weird I'm not smilying. *shrug*--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." sinker 0 #6 August 5, 2003 very cool. i do know a little about moto-x... I've got an XR-650 torque monster w/ a huge 5 gal baja tank. so how does taking a tandem student out feel? seriously... is it strange to have all that weight attached? hard to get stable? -the artist formerly known as sinker
AggieDave 6 #7 August 5, 2003 It is very different, definatly NOT your normal skydive, but its not bad. Its *usually* not hard to get stable...although I had a student this weekend stick his arms and legs down (think of an upside down U, a SEVERE hugging the beach ball type of thing) before I tossed the drogue. That took a little bit to get control of then toss the drogue. (I fought it for a few seconds, then just grabbed his arms/legs and balled us up, that put us on our back, so I was able to roll over and toss the drogue. Then I leg lock him, so after that it was perfectly normal. Although kinda annoying at first, to say the least) Oh, the student never had a clue that he was fucking me up. We got down and he said "man that was freak'n awsome, I especially liked the tricks we got to do...those flips and stuff..." I just smiled and said "Yeah, those were a blast! Welcome to skydiving!" He didn't have video, so he never knew how hard I was working. The thing that I find the strangest about doing tandems, is holding a conversation with someone under canopy, at basically normal volume. Oh, and DAMN, a XR-650...that's a lot of bike (I wisk I had one). --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
sinker 0 #8 August 5, 2003 well, it's TOO much bike actually... it's bored out, high compression, aftermarket piston, rings, valves, etc. I blew the f*cking motor a coupld months ago on the way to the dz. but god that thing was a torque monster! 3rd gear wheelies were effortless. that student you described... couldn't help but smile... that was my wife's tandem pose. The TM was a short dude, like 5'4" or so, handled it with incredible poise. Let the flip happen on exit, knew exactly where they were in the air and out came the drogue right when it needed to be. man, that's so cool you're livin this man! I'm jealous! -the artist formerly known as sinker
AggieDave 6 #9 August 5, 2003 Its the best college job I've had so far! Beats the hell out of being a cook/barback at a bar, beats being a web developer, beats being internet tech support, beats doing sys admin work, beats working at office depot...well, the list goes on, but you get the point.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Zenister 0 #11 August 5, 2003 nioce pictures dave! although i must say you've lost some 'character' with the shorter goatee QuoteThe thing that I find the strangest about doing tandems, is holding a conversation with someone under canopy, at basically normal volume. one of the best things i've heard from a tandem master after the canopy opens (thru my friend who did 3 with the same rocking TM at Eloy) was "Welcome to my office!" she uses it now after a good rapid (shes a river guide here in WA)____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. kansasskydiver 0 #12 August 5, 2003 Aggie just admit it, you're in it for the girls Aggie to cute girl at bar: "So I'm a tandem master, wanna jump nekkid for free?" Cute girl from bar: "Really? But how would I breath in freefall?" Aggie with grin on face: "Don't worry, you'll absorb all the oxygen thru your skin, it's better that you go nekkid" hahah just giving ya crap man. Congrats on the skydives, wish I could pump out 500 jumps a year, or jump everyday for that matter. Chris<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!

mountainman 0 #14 August 5, 2003 Yo Dave ! Man... I have been out of the site for awhile and now you're doing this ? Seems like the last time I was on here, you were jumping with pumpkins on your head and was trying to scrape up a canopy every weekend. heh heh heh ... TONS of congrats on getting the tandem rating and doing all of that. I'm sure you're living your dream a little more know, eh ? Keep it up, man ! http://www.brandonandlaura.com
AggieDave 6 #15 August 5, 2003 I wish, but I don't think I'm going to make it to couch freaks this year, BUT I should be at the Holiday Boogie in Eloy. Yall should make it to that, it kicks ass!--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
AggieDave 6 #16 August 5, 2003 Quoteone of the best things i've heard from a tandem master after the canopy opens (thru my friend who did 3 with the same rocking TM at Eloy) was "Welcome to my office!" I use that line! Damn, and I thought I came up with it. MM: You have been off the site for a long time, its great to see you back again! Yeah, well March of 2002 I did my 100th jump, now I have over 600 jumps and I'm mad at myself for not dedicating myself to jumping sooner. I've had more fun in the past year, done more jumps and learned so damned much that I look back at those 2 years I barely jumped and I'm annoyed. Oh, I think the Great Pumpkin might fly again...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
