CornishChris 5 #1 August 8, 2003 Something I read in a post by Mama (I think) about Head Honcho still forking out most of the dough for this website got me thinking would we all mind paying to be here - just a nominal sum. We spend lots of time here and it is a cool place to be and meet people so why not pay. I suppose some will think that the right to freedom of information justifies non payment but as we all appreciatte these things aint free. So what is the verdict. I am off to the pub to play darts soon so I expect to see a fun and lively discussion when I get back... edit to add: If you say depends how much or yes then suggest a price. i reckon $10-$20 a year maybe. newshooter12 0 #4 August 8, 2003 from what i've heard/read it is a pretty expensive thing to run, but then again that's what the Donations section is all about. I've made a trip there myself and encourage those that can afford to help out to do so to. He's allowing us all to play and learn on his $ and that is something noble in my opinion. skymama 37 #6 August 8, 2003 We beat this subject to death last fall, and after reviewing the results, that is when the Donations page started. HH doesn't expect anyone to help him pay for the site. But as he says, if it wasn't for the site he could have a home back in South Africa on a mountainside, overlooking a nude beach! I'm sure you've noticed that he is getting more advertisers to the site, but it's still not enough to pay for it every month and because of all the post whores, he's had to increase the bandwidth quite a bit! So, if you can spare some change to buy him a jump or a reserve repack, I'm sure he'd really appreciate it.
