Amazon 7 #1 August 3, 2003 :6:0 Well my weekend is over 6 good jumps with good people. Headdown vRW jumps and a 12 way belly I entered on in 12th.... woo hoo.. Reserve was going out of date so I got to the ground and found out how my new rig velcro on the pillows was to pull... I need to take the whole thing apart and clean off the Lost Prairie dust and grasshopper guts and a few grass stains from back in April when I was just getting back into the sport. Maybe the pretty red and white rig was not the best choice for my first rig back in the sport From the beginning of April to beginning of Aug......135 jumps. Now I have to take off a couple weeks and go to the mouth of the Columbia River to replenish my supply of Salmon. The big Chinook salmon are coming up the river.....you need to get them before they are in the fresh water very long... they start to do rude stuff in the water. freeflir29 0 #2 August 3, 2003 0:0:0 Well.....I took yesterday away from the DZ to go to an art festival in Lakewood and then down to the "Red Bull Wings Over Cleveland" shindig. That was some cool stuff. It was strange to see a swoop course out in the middle of the water. The "landing area" was a relatively small "barge" out in the middle of the water. Probably 30X60 or so. Funny to watch the guys trying to shut down the canopy only to keep sliding and go off the other side. I also got to watch the Paragliding competition. That's kinda scary lookin. As a skydiver....canopies collapsing tend to cause concern. Apparently in paragliding this is quite "normal." Pretty cool to watch. It has been fairly crappy weather all day today so I have been at home most of the day. I did however ACTUALLY REMOVE all the boxes from my living room today. They have been there since I moved in 4 months ago.

ladyskydiver 0 #5 August 3, 2003 Ton of DZ.commers met at WFFC: 2: 0 Hey, Riddler....nice to ride back with you on the truck after the soccer field landing. Got to WFFC yesterday just before it poured. Ended up having dinner and running through craft stores with a bunch of the DZ.commers. This morning was bright and beautiful. Got in 2 jumps - 1 of which was a sit fly that I held!!! Thank you DaGimp, SkyDekker, and VectorBoy for your help with it!!! Unfortunately, I had to leave today (well...it did start raining again anyway ) and come back for work but will be heading back down on Thursday to meet up with people and jump again with the wonderful DZ.commers. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

skymama 37 #8 August 4, 2003 1 dinner prepared by Chopchop (and it was good!) :4:0 Bad weather hosed me getting to my 300th (I'm at 297) and Chopchop's work hosed me being able to jump with him. I did get to jump with Fozchek which was a nice treat. She's such a great girl. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
mikkey 0 #9 August 4, 2003 1:5:0 Did 5 canopy control course jumps Sunday. Very good, learned a lot about the hugh variety of inputs possible and it was fun as well. I can only recommend these type of programs, they are really useful and will help prevent accidents. 1 sore hip, as I f***ed up a landing, all landings were filmed and I could not handle the "pressure" .--------------------------------------------------------- When people look like ants - pull. FallingILweenie 0 #10 August 4, 2003 0:4:some probably 4 jumps at rantoul, the highlight being a belly dive (how often will i ever say that???). we got a mostly chicagoland-skydiving-way that was something in the neighborhood of 24 out of the DC-3. it only built to about 12, and i almost got there at the end of the dive (i was one of the last divers out), but the cool thing was that the whole zoo is now on Norman Kent's video camera next weekend....Summerfest! ...and hopefully less rain....fuckin weather.... TheAnvil 0 #12 August 4, 2003 0:6:1. I was at Hollister on Saturday. Got up EARLY Sunday morning and just felt like running, so I went back home to run. The sky turned blue so I headed to the Monterey DZ around 1 PM to get a jump in for the day. GREAT weekend in H-town. The H-bomb (Aviatrix) and TitaniumLegs were putting together some kickass 8-9 ways. Good stuff. Got to jump with celljumper in H-town before she left for A-town and grad school. Beers to all! Dumpster 0 #17 August 4, 2003 1,400+ miles driven :0:0 Drove out to NY and back, to pick up the rest of Sarah's stuff (my 16 year old, who is now living with me full-time!) Checked out my 18 year old daughter Liz' place, which isn't to shabby for a first place of her own, well, actually she and her girl friend. Kind of stressful trip, the ex-wife and my 11 year-old son are selling most everything, packing up and moving to Alaska. ( Achorage-) Gives me a good excuse to go! Kind af a tearful good-bye- Next time I see the young man he will be nearly a year older. I promised to keep calling every Sunday, just like I always have. Now more than ever I need to...... Zennie 0 #18 August 4, 2003 0:6:1 Planned on going to SDH and while I was on my way I decided to be totally impulsive... so I kept on driving up to Skydive Aggieland to spend the weekend with Aggie Dave, Pablito, Todd and the rest of the crew. Did lots of fun jumps, worked with my tracking pantz a bit more, but the highlight jumps were the last. We made two Cessna formation vSCR attempts (1st formation jump for me). Didn't get 'em but they were a blast and made for great video. Thanks to AggieDave for putting me up and Todd Spillers (SDA DZO and all-around cool guy) for having us back at his place for beer and movies. As usual, enjoyed the laid-back vibe... just chilling out and making jumps with a bunch of great folks. - Z "Always be yourself... unless you suck." - Joss Whedon
